If someone is actually reading this, that means I am no longer around.
I may be melodramatic, starting with the sentence "I'm no longer around," but you may never know; I could die in any moment; heck, I may die right now while I'm writing, in a pretty old man's words.
This message is to every young, aspiring hero out there.
In the past seventy years, I was in a constant battle with ennui; no matter what, I fought bravely with heroes from another world, where I used the pen as the bridge between fantasy and reality.
Unfortunately, I was also battling against someone who I almost lost—someone who I couldn't defeat on my own.
Sorrow.I felt sad; my reason is about the future. You may never know what the future holds. It is frightening not to know what will happen later. Unfortunately, I took a huge toll on myself.
A true pain.First things first, as you already know, I'm Frederick Ernestine. If the name doesn't ring a bell, don't you worry; I don't care if you don't know me. You see, in the city I live in, everybody knows me as the king of comic books or the father of superheroes because my job is writing and drawing comic books, and it was the best seventy years of my life. So why am I here to begin with?
I want to explain why and how I wrote my very first comic book.
"Adam: The First Superhero and the Day of the Awakening"
Just for the origin part, I want you to read the rest of the comic by yourself without me spoiling everything. If you're a part of a new generation, you may not know the story very well. That's why I want to summarise first.
It all started on a simple planet called Earth. There wasn't much to talk about; every story is practically the same: we live, we grow, we experience, and then we die.
Except for one man—the one person who changed the world for the better. His name is Adam Walken, the first ever character I introduced and the main protagonist on this simple fictional planet.
He was a normal man; he doesn't have anything special aside from a stable lifestyle as a college teacher. He worked every day from day to night. He may be loved by his students and by his colleagues, but something has been bothering him since he started his job.
There was no excitement; he lived in a world where nothing peculiar was happening.
Is a life we all live.Until one day, when suddenly an asteroid that hit the earth thousands of years ago started to open, unleashing from the depths of the sea a strong blue wave, causing a world change, including Adam himself.
When Adam came to school, he realised most of his students were absent; he didn't understand what was happening. He went to the faculty and realised that most of the teachers were also absent. When Adam met with the headmaster, he had to explain the situation that was currently happening.
Adam came home without anything to do; he didn't have a hobby to pass the time.
All he wanted to do was wait.
He laid down in his bed while his gaze was focused on the roof.He looked, waited, and wandered within his thoughts. For a moment, he was about to lose his consciousness; maybe he was just tired, so he decided to let tiredness take over.
It wasn't a great sleep; Adam was struggling; he felt something suffocating him, like he was missing air; his entire vision was still dark; he doesn't know if he's moving in a dream or reality.
He is fighting against no one, but mostly himself.
He felt his life was slipping away; fortunately, just a simple knock on the door awoke him from this torture.
