Chapter 12

I wake up to my eyes being extremely crusted and a massive headache, I pull out of Nicks hold and walk to the bathroom, I walk in and look in the mirror to see tear stains all over my face, I turn on the water and wash my face, I look in the mirror again and let out a sigh, "Lilly?" I hear Nick say, "I'm going to get breakfast do you want anything?" He said, "no" I said, it was silent for a few minutes and I heard him leave, I sniffle and walk back out getting back in bed and pulling the blankets up to my chin, I slowly fell back to sleep
I walk downstairs with my suit case and duffel bag, "you better take care of her Jake" my mom said, "will do miss Jones" Nick said putting his hand on his forhead like a soulder, earning a slap on the chest by Jake, "I will mom" he said, "or I can just look after myself" I said walking out the door and putting my stuff in Jakes car, I went back in hugging my mom, "you be good" she said hugging me back, suddenly I hear a car horn and I turn to see lights coming straight for us

I jump out of my sleep and look around frantically crying, after dreaming about the same thing for the past month it still felt the same, I hug my knees and cry gripping my hair tightly almost pulling out my hair, I stayed like this for about an hour when Nick comes back, "you ok?" He asked, "I'm fine" I said laying down and wrapping myself in a blanket again, "are you hungry? I brought extra" he said, I shake my head no.
Things didn't get any better over the next month, I distanced myself from everyone including Nick, I just didn't feel like being around people, I knew Nick and Kayla were getting worried, I wouldn't leave my room unless it was for class or to go eat.
I got ready for class putting my hair in a messy pony tail and took off to class, I see Jake standing in form of my class, I ignore him and try to walk in, "Lilly, wait" he said grabbing my arm, "move Jake I have class" I said trying to push past, we fought for a minute, "it's about there funeral!" He yelled out making me stop, I step back, "what about it?" I ask, "in they're will me and you get 50/50 of whatever they have, the lawyer wants to meet with us on Friday, and there funeral is Friday morning, so I told him we can come right after the funeral" he said, I tear up, "fine we can leave Thursday" I said, we stood there for a minute, "anything else?" I asked, "Lilly I'm sorry, I didn't mean what I said that night, I was just worried about them and I had a little bit too much to drink" he said, I gripped my school stuff, "it's been a month Jake, I've been alone for a month, I didn't want Nick or Kayla to be there for me, I wanted my brother and I wanted to be there for you too, we need each other right now" I said, he quickly pulls me into a tight hug making me drop all my stuff and hug him back sobbing, "I know I'm sorry" he sniffled.
After classes were done I went back to my room and seen Nick waiting, when he heard me close the door he immediately stood up, "are you ok? Did you talk to Jake?" He asked quickly, "yes I talked to him, we're leaving Thursday, are you coming?" I asked, he nods, I nod and set my stuff down, I started sobbing out of no where, Nick came up from behind me hugging me, "I'm here for you" he whispered in my ear, he picked me up bridal style and sits on the bed hugging me, "I don't wanna go, it will just prove that there not here anymore" I sniffled, "I know, I'll be here with you the whole time, ok?" He said, I nod and hug him tighter. Thursday came quicker than I had wished, I had my stuff packed that I needed and I made my way to Jakes car, I see Kayla Jake and Nick all waiting, Kayla already in the front passenger seat listening to music, Nick and Jake talking, they see me and Jake runs over taking my stuff putting it in the car, we all get in the car, me and Nick in the back Jake and Kayla in the front, I didn't bother putting my seat belt on, I laid on Nick lap and went to sleep.
