Y/N WAS THE FIRST ONE AWAKE, as usual. She woke in the early hours of the morning, before the sun, and started a large pot of coffee. She took a shower, only drying her hair around 80% before changing into wide leg linen pants and a loosely cropped mock neck sweater. She pulled half of her hair up, braiding the small ponytail in a half up half down look. She normally wouldn't put effort into her looks, but they were leaving the house today and she didn't want to look like a homeless wreck.
She started breakfast, donning a long black apron. She began mixing the waffle batter together in a bowl. She preheated the griddle, spooning little dollops onto the steaming iron. Closing the lid, she began dishing out yogurt into bowls. She decorated them with all kinds of berries, honey, and granola. She heard small footsteps behind her, turning to see Alexei. She was wearing the pajamas that Y/n and Yaz had bought for her the day before, rubbing her eyes with her tiny fist.
"Hi.." she said, voice small and tired.
"Morning, sunshine!" Y/n said, turning fully to look at her. She squatted down, opening her arms widely, inviting the child in for a hug. Alexei smiled widely, running into Y/n and wrapping her legs around her waist. Y/n scooted her up on her hip, turning back to the griddle. She gently opened the hot machine as Alexei rested her head on Y/n's shoulder, watching the older girl cook. Y/n moved to the cabnets to grab plates, carefully setting them on the counter. Y/n grabbed the waffles with tongs, plating them and dousing each in syrup and butter. She carried Alexei and one plate over to the table, setting the plate in front of the little girl.
She happily munched on the food, engrossed in the sugary treat.
As quietly as she could, Y/n entered the room Lev and Mikhail were sharing, snatching the baby out of the boys arms. Mikhail had clearly been awake when she entered, and she cooed at him as she led him into the kitchen with her. She grabbed a small container of apple sauce, placing him on her lap as she sat next to Alexei at the table.
Tyler entered soon after, pausing to take in the scene before him. Y/n was bouncing Mikhail on her thigh as she giggled at him, scraped some food off his chin with the spoon. Alexei was talking to Y/n rapidly, swinging her little legs back and forth as she rambled about what she wanted to do that day. Eventually, Y/n's green eyes found Tylers broad form in the doorway.
She stood, Mikhail balanced on her hip and she mover towards the oven. She placed some waffles on a plate for Tyler, passing them to him along with the butter and syrup. "Good morning, Tyler." She smiled, siting back in her place at the table and gesturing for him to follow. "Dis you sleep well?" She asked, looking up at him across the table.
"Could've been better," he murmured, zoning out as he stared into her eyes. Over the past sixth months, Tyler had found himself more and more entranced with the woman before him. She was all the good things he wasn't, her soul still pure despite the nature of their occupation. He returned his attention to his plate, clearing his throat.
Y/n hummed in recognition, continuing to feed Mikhail. They sat in silence for a while, simply enjoying their meals as they wanted for the others to wake. The sun had just started to clear the buildings surrounding them, filling the room with a warm, golden light. Tyler couldn't help but admire how the light danced through Y/n's (h/c) hair.
Nik and Yaz joined them, soon followed by the twins. They all chatted about random things as Y/n dressed Mikhail and Alexei for the day. When everyone was done eating, she called for Lev and Sasha to get dressed and meet her in the living room.
While Nik and Yaz were going to start their meetings with the DOD today, Y/n, Tyler and the family were free to do as they pleased. Y/n planned on letting Tyler catch up on some much needed rest, and she would take the kids out to shop for some clothes with Yaz's credit card.
