Back to the story:

5 minutes had passed and Mississippi had slowed down to a walking pace.

He had no idea where he was going and was endlessly walking down hallway after hallway. No one in sight. He reached a split with 2 hallways going down either side of the hall he was currently on and stopped there.

"Shit, I'm lost."

"Where's the mess hall?"

He looked to the hall on his right.

Mississippi pondered his options to go.

"Maybe going right is the way to think..."

Thinking that the right way was, in fact, the right way...

Was right.

To go the wrong way.

The staircase was behind a corner of the hall to his left. Not his right.

10 minutes later:

"Ok, I'm lost."

He looked around him and looked for any signs of life.

None.

Sighing from the lack of help around him and his situation.

The only thing he saw were doors upon doors on his right with pillars and windows to his left.

"Probably should have asked Wales for directions."

Turning back around to retrace his steps.

"I should be able to find her office by retracing my-"

Only to see a red-dotted trail behind him.

"Huh?"

Scratching the back of his head with his right hand,

AN Note: His clothing will not be touched by the blood. Just blood seeping onto his hair.

he felt blood coming from the unnoticed open wound in the back of his head.

He pulled his right arm in front of him and saw blood on his index fingers.

"Shit,"

"I thought it-"

Wales: "Mississippi!"

Looking at the other end of the hallway, he saw Wales running towards him.

"Oh, hey-"

Wales: "You need to get to Vestal, NOW!"

"It's only a little blood."

He starts walking to Wales.

"I'll be fin-"

He stumbles a little, before nearly falling over.

He recovers last second with Wales almost ready to grab his left shoulder.

"Ok, you have a point..."

"But-"

Wales: "Now."

"...Fine."

He puts his right hand on the open wound and both of them head down to the clinic where Vestal is.

NOTICE: Heavy use of descriptive blood ahead, this scene is meant to describe his situation, but unimportant to the rest of the chapter. Only the severity it. I'll leave space for those wishing to go by it.
