Updated: I've looked at this and realized I forgot a photo and a major error was in Elizabeth's POV.

December 9th, 1941

7:23 A.M.:

Mississippi wakes up as the curtain on the window fails to block the sun from his eyes.

"Mhhh"

Opening his eyes, he sees the light coming through the open hole while on his left shoulder

Grumbling to himself.

"God, why can't these curtains just be wider?"

Before he rolls over onto his back, he brings the curtain to the open hole.

Now on his back, he looks around and sees that the tray was taken, his hat replaced it, and the door was closed.

"Well, that's nice of her."

Mississippi moves to get out of bed...

getting out, with little difficulty, and looked down at himself.

His uniform.

Thought: "Well, at least I'm wearing what I wore. Those patient clothes aren't comfortable nor nice to wear."

Mississippi gets up to move to the door for his boots.

They were next to the damn door.

A line was brought with him.

Bloodline from the blood bag.

"Oh, right, I still got this in me..."

Looking at where it goes into his arm.

"Well, I could take it out..."

"And bleed to death."

Looking at the metal pole.

Before looking down.

"Wonder if it has-"

"Wheels..."

It, in fact, had wheels, crappy ones at that.

"Good."

He grabs the pole and walks it with him to the door and goes to grab his boots.

Until the wheels break from the clamps.

"Now why would you leave the brakes on it?"

Mississippi puts his boots on before opening the door.

Pole in his right hand.

"Wonder if I can find Vestal."

Looking up and down the hall, Mississippi notices that there are doors ahead and behind his own with a double door on each end of the hall with a floor of white, squared, tile.

"Vestal!"

He yelled...

...Nothing...

Mississippi turns back to re-enter his room.

"Guess she's sleeping in-"

Only for the double door behind him to slam open.

Vestal: "Jesus what is with hi-"

Vestal looked up from the tile flooring to see Mississippi at his patient door holding the metal pole.

Vestal: "Oh, your up."

Vestal's eyes widened.

Vestal: "YOUR UP!?"
