Mizuki shivers. It's gotten colder. Autumn is upon us. It's quiet early in the morning, the sun cuts through the blinds and shines in beams around their room. Mizuki snags a white button-down blouse from a hanger. They pull it on and start buttoning it up, trying to avoid looking at their chest. They pull on a flowy pink skirt and cardigan. Mizuki works at a boutique nearby. Normally, they work later, but one of their co-workers had to take off so they picked up her shift. Though, Mizuki is really regretting that now. Their limbs feel heavy and their brain foggy. But too late to back out now.

Mizuki heads into the kitchen and is greeted by their mom.

"Morning!" Ms. Akiyama exclaims. "Not used to seeing you up so early" She giggles and smiles warmly.

"Mornin'" Mizuki replies groggily.

"I made you pancakes."

Pancakes....they think of Ena... It's her favorite. They quickly shake the thought from their mind and sit down to eat.

Ena wakes at noon. The blinds are shut tightly. She rubs the sleep from her eyes and immediatly grabs her phone. She scrolls for a few minutes. Photos are artists plague her feed. It stabs her heart. It's not fair... why can't she be that good? Why...? She turns off her phone puts it down. She needs to leave this room..

She gets up and heads downstairs, and then hears an agitatating voice.

"Oh look who's up" Akito taunts

"Oh shut up! You aren't funny" Ena retorts

"Whatever" He shrugs

She rolls her eyes and says. "Whatever. I just wanted some food"

"Then get some food. There's rice on the stove"

She glares at him and then rolls her eyes again and fills a bowl with rice. She pulls out a frying pan to cook an egg. When shes done, she sits at the table with Akito and starts eating. He scrolls on his phone while drinking a cup of coffee. She just sits and watches him while she eats. He takes notice. He looks up with an annoyed face.

"What?"

"Hmm?" Ena says, confused

"You were staring at me"

"No I wasn't! God can I do anything without bothering someone?!"

"That's not what I-" He sighs "The hell is up with you?"

"Nothing!" She snaps

"Yeah right. You've been moodier than usual." His tone softens "Is it dad again? Did he tell you something"

"I'm not moody! And no it isn't dad"

"Then what is it?"

"I told you nothing!"

"Ena I'm not stupid. Why don't you tell me anything? I get we don't always get along but I'm still your brother. I mean seriously Ena. It's getting old. You just shutting down and not telling anyone." She's quiet for awhile. She stops eating and just stares at her food. Akito stares at her and waits for her to speak.

"It's just...All my art sucks" She hesitates. Her next words are quiet. "I'm tired of not being good enough."

Akito takes in the information. "What makes you think you aren't good enough? You're talented Ena. Who cares what dad says? He's an asshole."

"Easy for you to say! He actually likes you!" Ena lashes out. Akito sighs

"If your just gonna argue with me than forget it" He gets up and leaves. She hears him shut his door.

She feels like an idiot. Why is she alwyas doing this? Why is she always pushing people away? She wants to be a better sister but... she doesn't know how. Maybe she just can't. Maybe there is no healing their relationship..
