It was pretty late. Maya had ignored everyone entering the bus. She had tried to not be too loud on the phone, but her and Ella had talked for hours. Maya's fears were unnecessary. Ella was so happy to hear back, as she hadn't expected Maya to call back at all. When they first started talking, it didn't stop. Maya was quite fond of one part of the conversation. "Well, how is it to be with all these boys?" Ella asked curiously. Maya sighed.
"It's a bit much. They seem way more mature than me. I actually feel lonelier than before." She admitted. Maya quickly glanced up, to check if any of the boys were eavesdropping. They all seemed busy. "Well, I think you're doing great. I will definitely see you when you get closer to Denmark again. Then we can have a sleepover and gossip and have tons of fun." Ella said before laughing. Ella was most likely joking, but Maya felt excited about it.
She wanted to talk longer with Ella, until she saw Bill heading over. Maya didn't want them to know about Ella yet, especially right before their collab tour. It seemed unnecessary, why would they need to know anyway? Bill noticed she was on the phone, so he seemed a bit confused when Maya hurriedly hung up, telling the other person that she would talk to them soon. Bill tilted his head slightly.
"Who was that?" He asked, clearly curious. Maya bit her lip, before giving him a small smile. "It was my mom. Nobody special." She said, before quickly changing the topic. "Do you need anything?" Bill might be a bit naive, but he knew that wasn't Maya's mother. He scuffed. "That wasn't your mom. You have been on the phone for hours." He said, trying to make the last sentence a bit less aggressive. Maya wasn't having it. He didn't have the right. "Back off Bill! I must be allowed to talk to my mom!" Maya said, clearly getting defensive. The change in her tone caught Oscar and Tom's attention.
Bill felt betrayed. Why couldn't she be honest with him? "But you're lying! Show me your call history then!" He said, reaching for her phone. Maya shook her head, and kept the phone behind her. She dodged Bill's attempt to get behind her, but her phone was suddenly snatched out of her hand. Maya quickly turned around and looked into another pair of big, brown eyes. Tom. He smirked at her.
"No need to be this angry if youre telling my brother the truth?" He said slyly. He handed Bill her phone over Maya's reaching arms. What was this?! One minute they're fighting over her, now they are teaming up on her. Bill smiled at his brother as he opened her phone. "Hey! We all know it isn't her mom. But you are not allowed to treat her like that." Carlo said harshly. Behind him was Oscar, avoiding any glances thrown at him.
Bill and Tom looked at eachother. "He is right... Let it go." Gustav said sternly. They tried not to alert any managers or crew. Bill slowly handed Maya's phone back to her. She was livid. "Asshole!" She whispered aggressively before stomping on Bill's foot. She then pushed Tom out of her way before she went to another secluded part of the bus. Tom looked after her in awe, while Bill held his face in his hands, realizing what he just did.
The rest of the bus trip to their first date was awkward. Bill had been apologizing to everyone, but Maya had avoided him. The same couldn't be said for Tom. He shrugged his shoulders and said he would apologize when she was ready to talk. Maya avoided Tokio Hotel as a whole. She had exchanged a few words with Gustav and Georg, but hadn't given Tom and Bill a glance. Bill was crushed by this. He regretted everything, he was just jealous and nosy.
Tom enjoyed the challenge Maya was throwing at him. Every time he could see Maya throw him a small look, he winked, blew a kiss or licked his lips. She hated it, because it caught her attention. She just sent him a weird look or quickly walked another direction. She kept this up for 2 cities, until Jermy took her aside. He looked quite serious.
"Maya, we need to talk." She just nodded and walked after him. They had just got to their third destination, so she knew a confrontation had to happen soon. She walked after him to a nearby bench. "Maya. I agree that Tom and Bill did something... Not nice. But Bill has tried to talk to you, and so has Tom... In his own ways. But you guys are collaborating on this tour. Tonight is the biggest city yet, and the biggest venue. Fans have already mentioned the weird vibe between the bands. So please. Settle this as adults." Jermy said, in a strict but understanding voice. Maya sighed. She just nodded slowly. As adults, huh...
Jermy fetched the twins, and stood there, making sure this went like he wanted it to go. He waved Bill to go first. "Maya... I know I did something wrong. You are entitled to your privacy, and I was a jerk to even try to take it from you. I really enjoy being your friend, so I hope we can continue like that." He said while looking into Maya's eyes. She had never gotten an apology like that before. She smiled slightly and nodded slowly. Bill's worried expression broke into a smile, and suddenly hugged her.
She was a bit surprised, but hugged him back. Bill's tenseness eased in her arms, and they hugged maybe a second too long. "Alright, Tom." Jermy interrupted. Bill let go, and walked away, showing his new respect for Maya's privacy. Maya's amazement with Bill's honesty quickly washed away when she saw Tom and his cocky smile.
"Sorry Maya. Bill said everything I was planning on saying. "He said before shrugging his shoulders. Maya's lips turned into a line. "I don't get you. One day you joke around like you're my best friend, another day you treat me like the ground you walk on. Just leave me alone, you clearly don't have any regret in your whole body." Maya said calmly before walking away from the situation.
Jermy sighed loudly, and turned to Tom, giving the young man a piece of his mind. Maya didn't care what Tom had to hear, he probably needed it. She needed somebody else to talk to. Someone who agreed with her aggressive silent treatment. It clearly worked on Bill, but Tom didn't take the bait as easily to agree to his wrongdoings.
She then met Sigmund. "Maya, please just settle this. It's affecting everyone." He started. Maya gave him a look filled with poison before just walking from him. Sigmund suddenly said something that made Maya stop in her tracks. "Tom knows about Ella." He suddenly bursted out. Maya turned around slowly. He looked way more relaxed, like a weight was lifted off his shoulders. However, Maya's blood turned to ice within her.
"How?!" She demanded, while stomping towards Sigmund. He took a step back. "I can't tell you." She cocked her head to the side, like a threat. Sigmund grabbed her shoulders. "Listen. You need to calm down. I won't tell you before you calm down." He says while she is trying to get out of his grip. "It was Oscar. He can't keep his mouth shut."
Carlo suddenly chipped in. He was leaning against the bus, watching his bandmates argue. He seemed to take the role of justice maker, as Sigmund slowly let go of Maya and bury his face in his hands. "You all knew!?" Maya hissed, getting even more upset. "You guys treat me liek this because I'm not a guy, and it's so fricking irritating. I hate this tour!" Maya yelled before hunting down Oscar, ready to chop his head off.
