Now:

"Take my hand" He said, extending his hand towards mine. I took it and leapt up. "Close your eyes." He murmered calmly. I did as he said, more out of fear than obedience. I felt a gust of air against my body and my head began to spin. I could hear the great cloud that was advancing towards us, the sound of sand scraping against sand.

Then it was quiet. The feeling of floating subsided and I opened my eyes. We were still in the desert but it was quiet, with just the sound of my ragged breathing to fill the vast expanse. My knees buckled, I was too weak to notice the strong arms holding me upright. The sun was now right above our heads and I could feel my skin get hotter.

I craned my neck to look at the my strange saviour above me. "What are you?" I asked. He looked taken aback by my question. "Not a who but a what?" He chuckled, bypassing the question. I was too hot and confused to reply, rolling my eyes instead.

"Do you-" He cut me off by placing a waterbottle in the palm of my hand. I gazed at him, slightly confused as to where he'd got it from. He looked at me expectantly, "Aren't you going to drink it?" He asked, his voice soft. I snapped out of my trance and drank, grateful for the cool liquid.

I studied him. I decided he was perhaps around my age or maybe a little older. He wore a pair of faded jeans and a simple black t-shirt. He had raven-black hair and the most beautiful eyes, where had I seen those eyes before? I thought to myself, recognition burning in the back of my mind. I couldn't put my finger on where i'd seen them before. I noticed for the first time how pale his skin was, unlike mine, which was flushed from the Midday sun.

I tried again with my questioning "What- sorry- who are you?" I asked, now standing upright on my own. "My name is Jack" was his answer. I was getting agitated, "That wasn't my question" I snapped, glaring at him.

He looked away, breaking eye contact. "All in good time Violet" Jack murmered before walking away. "Where are you going?" I called after him. "Why don't you follow me and find out Violet?" He called back, I noticed how much he used my name, How did he know it anyway? I thought, before following him.

He slowed his pace so that I could catch up. I decided to play his little game. "Okay, if you're not going to tell me what you are, will you at least tell me why I'm here?" Jack considered his answer before responding "I was sent here to find you" Was all he said.

I groaned in frustration, stepping into stride beside him. "Yes but WHY?" I prodded. "Okay, I'm going to make you a deal. I will tell you all that you should know, if you stop asking questions and except that I will tell you when the times right." He said facing away from me.

I sighed but nodded for him to conitnue, not sure that I would believe him but he had just saved me. "You may as well know, I'm not human." I raised my eyebrows in question. "Violet" Jack warned, before continuing. "I've been sent here to help you find your way." Okay, now he was being deliberately vague. So many questions buzzed in my mind- What is he, What is 'my way' exactly and who sent him? But I bit my tongue. "You have to trust me violet, and you have to let me save you..." Now just one question burned, Save me from what?...

Hey guys, would love to know what you think!
