Aesop Carl was never a normal person from the start. His mom passed when he was young, and he lived with his neighbor and took his last name. When he was enrolled in his school, the school refused him because he was a "hard person to teach" even if young Aesop begged and pleaded to stay in school. He was a very quiet person, but he was a sympathetic and kind person overall.
When Aesop was older, he had found out his neighbor killed his mom by injecting morphine into her blood, and he was enraged. He had found this information in his caretaker's records, and he was enraged. The next day, he confronted his caretaker, but he denied it. Aesop made a plan to turn against him, and in the middle of the same night he found out about the records, he strapped the man onto the chair and injected lethal doses of morphine in him too, just as his mother faced many years ago.
After that fateful night, he would always wake up screaming, drowning in the guilt and shame of killing his own caretaker that he had adored for so many years. He was so naïve to trust all those lies he made up, and he felt shameful for killing so many people, not knowing what agony and pain he put people though his innocence.
A few days after the caretaker's death, a mysterious letter came to him. It was from a strange person, but he had offered to grant his wishes if he played a certain game. What harm could there be? It's only a game. Besides, I can finally get rid of my guilt and have all my wishes come true. Aesop thought. He accepted the letter with caution and travelled to the manor the next day.
