Since so many letters were sent to and fro from Aesop and Joseph, they both had no idea where to put them, and burning all these letters was the last thing that these two wanted to do. They tried hiding the letters in a crate at the bottom of the lake in lakeside village, but whenever they brang up the crate, at least a few letters had to be wet, and the ink would dissolve into the water. This idea didn't work out at all, and they tried many other ways, but they couldn't keep them private. They had the idea of signing the letters anonymously, but it was also a bad idea.
It was until one day when Joseph had a great idea. What if all the letters were stored in the camera world? The world inside there was infinite and could hold anything. Joseph proposed this idea to Aesop, and both agreed and thought it was the smartest thing ever. (They also agreed that this was the smartest thing that came out of Joseph's head in a long time)
And so, after that day, Joseph entrusted Aesop with one of his very valuable cameras, and Aesop stored it safely in his room. Aesop was taught how to operate the camera, and he got the hang of it in no time. He was a fast learner if he wanted to. He kept it hidden, since he didn't want the other survivors to see or to know that he was interacting with a hunter.
Aesop and Joseph also used the camera world as a meeting place. They would sometimes bump into eachother in the camera world while storing letters, and they met a lot in the camera world too. Even though they could talk and meet in the camera world, they still wanted to send letter because it was more fun and it added more excitement to thier boring and dull lives in the manor.
At this point Joseph loved Aesop, but he didn't know how to express it. He didn't know what to do with these feelings, so he decided to ask the experts. Michiko and Mary.
One day, during dinner, Joseph passed notes to Mary and Michiko to tell them for them to meet up at his room. The other hunters saw it, and started whispering, but they didn't expect Joseph to do anything, so they just disregarded it. Both Mary and Michiko were very confused, but they decided to listen and follow the plan. After dinner, Michiko and Mary headed up to Joseph's room as the note suggested. As they approached his room, Mary knocked on his door gently.
"Cherie, we're here. Can you please let us in?" Mary said carefully
Joseph then opened the door and welcomed both of them inside. Joseph sat on the bed, and Mary and Michiko sat beside him. There was a bit of a long silence, but Michiko broke it by asking,
"So, Joseph, what did you call us here for?"
" I need to talk about something kind of serious. Can you please not judge me for it?" Joseph asked quietly.
"Of course, cherie, we would never judge. Please, tell us what's going on." Mary said.
Joseph inhaled deeply and sighed, before saying,
"I think I have feelings for a person in this manor. It's not a fellow hunter either. It's a survivor. You know that Embalmer? The Aesop Carl guy? yeah him. I think I might like him."
Mary froze and Michiko put her fan over her mouth. A long silence commenced again before Mary broke the ice.
" I thought you were straight?"
The room suddenly erupted into laughter, and after the laughing ceased, Michiko said,
" If you actually love him, please, go for it. Me and Mary just want you to be happy. We will support you and keep it a secret. And also, how are you going to confess to him?"
" I was thinking by letter." Joseph said hopefully.
"That would be nice. A very casual and nice way to tell someone you love them. You know, it was also the same method I told Michiko I loved her" Mary said while staring into Michiko's eyes and Holding her hands.
" Eugh, get a room, Mary." Joseph said with disgust while pretending to gag
Michiko and Mary chuckled, they loved slightly teasing him by being romantic in front of him. They talked for a bit more, and they worked it all out. They made a plan. Joseph would confess in a letter, and he would personally deliver the letter, either in a match or the camera world.
After that Michiko and Mary also helped him write the letter, since they knew that it would probably come off as really weird if Joseph had written the letter himself. The letter said:
Dear Aesop,
I know we have known eachother for a long time, and it's almost our 1st friendship anniversary. We have talked together and we know eachother really well, sometimes better than ourselves. I just want to write this letter to say that I really like you, Aesop. I liked you from the start, and I just wanted to confess. It's okay if you want to stay as friends, and I'll get over it. That's all I wanted to say. I'm hoping to see your reply soon.
Regards,
Joseph Desaulniers
After writing the letter, Mary and Michiko had gotten sleepy, so they went to sleep. Joseph then sealed the letter with his signature gold wax, put it in his coat pocket, showered, and went to sleep.
Joseph felt proud of himself for getting himself together and managing to write that letter and confess his feelings to Aesop. He was elated, but he was also scared about how Aesop was going to react.
I mean, Aesop had fell asleep on his shoulder many times, pecked him on the forehead and stuff, but is this what friends really do? Or was the love actually mutual? These thoughts spiraled in his head, but Joseph dismissed it, as nobody never knew what was going to happen next. The future is a tricky thing, and you never know what life is going to throw at you.
After these thoughts, Joseph fell into a deep sleep, satisfied by his confession and how everything was going in his life.
