Next Morning:
Y/N's POV:
"Why do you both look so exhausted?" Questioned Chayoung once she saw me and Mr.Nam enter with heavy bags under our eyes and slumped shoulders.
"It's so fun." I whispered and dropped my head on the table.
"We spend whole night going through the file nonstop." Mr.Nam said in a exhausted voice while I was practically dozing off on the table. The reason I decided to accompany Mr.Nam last night to read the guillotine file was my overthinking.
Hope was beginning to fill inside me when I was truly hopeless, so to avoid my delusional thinking, I was willing to do anything.
Anything that would distract me from those eyes.
I groaned when I felt warm air near my face.
I looked up to see Vincenzo holding spoon near my face.
"You shouldn't skip meals." He gestured me to eat the soup he was holding up for me.
I didn't argued any further, I didn't have any energy left so I silently obliged. The warm liquid eased my stomach almost immediately. At that moment I realised how much I was craving food.
I was in pure bliss of the feeling I got from the food that I failed to notice the caring gaze of my companion.Vincenzo was looking at the women in front of him with tender gaze, her disheveled appearance and exhausted look did concerned him a little bit he couldn't deny the fact she actually looked cute.
He chuckled at his own thought.
The two other people sitting at the table scouted closer and started whispering to each other.
"See? Didn't I told you they will get together in no time?" Mr.Nam said fixing his hair.
"When did you say that?"
"Just now."
Chayoung looked at Mr.Nam with a raised brow but soon their attention was back on their interaction.
"It's a pity that he haven't confessed yet."
Mr.Nam stated and Chayoung nodded."I mean it's clearly visible in his eyes that he-"
"What are you two whispering about?" Vincenzo voice cut Chayoung's sentence off, the latter looked at him just to see him narrowing his eyes.
Both of the gossiping duo laughed awkwardly and straightened up.
"Enough of this chit-chat. We found out many about Oh Jeong bae, Daechang Daily's owner." I stated finally sitting up straight running a hand through my (H/C) locks."One thing is clear, He is a bastard." Mr.Nam said and I shrugged.
"Aren't they all?""What's the worst he did?" Chayoung asked looking intently at us.
"He killed his own older brother." I took a spoonful of soup and put it in my mouth, enjoying the warm feeling again."The reason was simple, the company."
"And his brother was acquitted in charge."After having a brief conversation about the dirty doings of the owner of Daechang Daily, we told them another interesting thing which was probably our chance to get in the owner's head.
"There is a Shaman he trusts and follows blindly."
Mr.Nam said while leaning back on the chair.
"And that's not it." I said gaining the attention of the two.
"The Shaman is also is former cult leader who has been convicted four times for fraud and sexual harassment. Bloody bastard. " I muttered the last word and chuckled lowly."How can he believe in a fraud like that?" Chayoung asked in disbelief.
"The less you know about it, the more you believe in it." I stated gulping down the soup.
