"is it a question of if, burr, or which one?"

1780, a winter's ball. aaron burr says that as i'm becoming more and more of a phenomenon, the only thing that we have in common is that we are reliable with the ladies. it's not like i disagree, but  i feel like that's not how we should be talking about women. i let it go though, just leaving the thought at the back of my mind.

lafayette, laurens, burr, mulligan, and i were talking about these women at the ball. the schuyler sisters. they are from one of the most influential families in new york city. the girls are the envy of all. burr comments, "if you can marry a sister, you're rich, son."

as burr and i are talking after that on the staircase, i see the oldest sister walking towards us, i whisper in his ear, "is it a question of if, burr, or which one?" with that i smirk at him as she takes me away. i learn that her name is angelica, angelica schuyler.

she introduced me to elizabeth, her younger sister. she's very nice, but i'll be honest, angelica is the prettier of the two. i know that if i'm going to end up with any of them though, it'll be eliza.
