*little time skip*

Today was the 1st of October, meaning it was the start of our domestic campaign and I couldn't be more excited. Our match was against Liverpool F.C, they were quite a tough side, gaining talent and acknowledgement over the past few seasons. The match wasn't going to be easy and that was a given because no match ever is. There is always a bump in the road but to be the best, we just have to surpass those bumps and hopefully come out victorious at the end of the season with the gleaming WSL trophy which we have longed to have our hands on again since 2019.

Kick off was 2pm and as it was only 9.45am, I had a bit of time to spare, so I caught up on some housework because I didn't want to return to a messy home. We were playing at The Emirates today and on the verge of it being a sell out crowd which will be unbelievable to experience, and just the thought of it sent shivers down my spine. And of course, it was my debut and I hoped Jonas has recognised my hard work and effort I consistently display in training because I really wanted to earn my place in that starting 11. It would be a dream come true.

I heard a very feint noise at my front door but I chose to ignore it because it was most likely nothing. As soon as I had sat down to resume watching my tv show, the noise got louder so I made my way to the door to see what or who was there. By the twist of a key and a small yank of the door handle, I was met with the familiar face of Leah Williamson, a sight I would never get bored off.

"Hey, I hope you don't mind me coming over, I just thought you could do with some company because, well why not." Leah offered, although it was rather quiet, I still understood what she was saying. I'm convinced she is only capable of speaking the truth because I really did need company before I indulged myself into a pit of never ending nervousness.

"Oh, hi Leah, I don't mind at all, please come in and make yourself at home." Probably the most I could say to her at this moment of time.

With that, she came and plonked herself on the sofa and grabbed the remote as if she were controlling the place, to say she took the statement "make yourself at home" very seriously would be an understatement to say the least, it genuinely felt like she lived here with me...

*Time skip 12pm (or am, i get mixed up but whichever is afternoon a/n)*

We made our way to N5 on the team coach and the streets were bustling with fans and people here to support us. It was unbelievable, to see how much the womens game had grown, it truly was great and I'm sure the players of the former generations would be very proud as to how far it has come.

I was sat next to Katie Mccabe on the coach to the stadium and we were laughing and joking on the whole journey, I don't think there was a time when either of us were quiet for even a fraction of a second. We sat listening to the playlist which we had made that everyone had some form of help initiated into it, a complete mix of songs but after all, it managed to do the trick. This went on all the way from our pick up point, to us entering the changing rooms and from then on, we were all in focus mode and not a single peep was heard out of anyone because we were all in a deep trance of desperation to win this game and start the season off with a bang.

After our warm ups were done, Jonas called us all to a big group circle where he revealed the starting 11, it was;
GK- Manu Zinsberger
LB- Steph Catley
CB- Leah Williamson
CB- Amanda Illestedt
RB- Katie Mccabe
CM- Kim Little (C)
CM- Lia Waltï
CAM- Victoria Pelova
LW- Caitlin Foord
ST- Alessia Russo
RW- Cloe Lacasse
Subs: D'Angelo, Wubben-Moy, Beattie, Maanum, Kühl, Mead, Adams, Miedema, Maritz.

So I didn't make the starting line up, but I did make the bench so I hope that I'll be coming on. I'm pretty annoyed that I wasn't chosen, but whatever Jonas says, goes.
