My name is Kourtney Adams. I am 19 years old and I have recently signed my first ever professional football contract with Arsenal WFC. It has always been my life long dream to play for such a well-known club and be apart of an amazing family. I'm originally from Newcastle, but I have lived in London for most of my life as it was much closer to the rest of my family, and to me, family comes before anything. Even before football, now that is a statement that I don't often say, as football is my whole life, and it has been ever since I was 3 years old.

Football wise, my current position is a right winger, although I don't mind playing as a striker every now and then, as I have quite a knack for scoring goals. When I was younger my nickname was "Little Messi" which was probably one of the best compliments that anyone could receive because he is an outstanding footballer and it isn't often that someone comes along and has the huge success of a career he has had and to this day, still continues to have. When I decide to hang up my boots I want to be remembered for as long as possible (only for good things of course) but to be able to leave my mark on women's football is just an all-round achievement. When I was younger, my footballing idol was Jodie Taylor, I thought she was out of this world and she has inspired me in so many ways thought even I didn't think was possible. Internationally and domestically, Jodie scored goals no matter where or who against and she is certain to be one of the greats within the women's game.

Off the pitch, I'm a very outgoing person who at times people describe to be as "a ray of sunshine" but at other times I can be a lot to handle, I would say that I'm easy to get along with and very understanding a vast majority of the time.

Growing up I'd say my life was quite easy and it wasn't all too hectic, there were some peculiar things to happen as I was growing up but to me, it was like that for everyone and there was always going to be learning curves and bumps along the way. I have always been a massive fan of Arsenal, attending the matches at the famous Emirates Stadium, and the electrifying atmosphere sent shivers down my spine, even as a young fan sat in the crowd. Football has been my life for a long time, waking up at 7am on a cold Saturday morning to make my journey for a football match, whether it be home or away, and win, lose or draw. I was always happy to just be out there on the pitch as I could just have fun and be who I really wanted to be. Everyone was competing for the win, but if it didn't go the way we planned then I'd be the one to lift everyone's spirits, as we couldn't exactly sit in sadness and dwell on what had happened in the past because it was impossible to change. There were plenty of times in my life where I wanted to go back in time to do some things differently but unfortunately it wasn't possible as much as it hurts me to say.
