Expect the Unexpected

Part 4.

It was currently 6pm and Leah said that's she would be picking me up at 6.05pm, I had no idea what I would do until then, apart from sitting like a bag of nerves because I never expected for this to happen. Not that I was complaining because Leah is an amazing person and it shows in how she cares for people and that she would do anything for the people she loved. On the pitch she only wants the best from her teammates, and that leadership quality of hers is a key part to how she performs on the pitch.

I heard a knock on my door and before I opened it, I had to take a second to just breathe and mentally prepare myself because I just wouldn't forgive myself if I was to mess up here.

"Hi Kourts, it's great to see you again, you look amazing by the way." She called me 'Kourts', am I dreaming or did that really happen?

"Oh thank you Leah, you look good too, so are we going to get started?" That slipped out my mouth, I think I'm trying too hard.

"Let's go, I can't wait!" Leah said to me, clearly showing her excitement. And with that she led me to her car in which she drove to our destination and it seemed to be a little cafe that was simplistic but it was nice. There wasn't too much going on and personally I'd say it was perfect. It wasn't too busy either which added to the perfection because nobody likes places that are busy.

We walked to the till where we both ordered our drinks. Leah got a hot chocolate and I got my regular which was a peach ice tea. Yes I know there's so many other things I could've gotten but that was by far my most favourite drink and nothing would change my mind.

"Peach ice tea? Don't think I've tried that yet!" I was shocked Leah hadn't tried it. But when I think about it she only likes plain things so it was probably out of range for her.

"It's the best, besides water its probably the only thing I ever drink, and I'm not being dramatic either." I had to be honest with her. I couldn't exactly lie, well not about peach ice tea either because that would be ridiculous.

Once we had received our beverages we exited the shop and we made our way to the local park which we slowly began to make our way around, conversation flowing smoothly and when we weren't talking we were just in a comfortable silence. Not awkward because that would've been, well awkward.

"So Kourtney tell me more about yourself, I'm very intrigued by you." Okay I can deal with this, nothing too full on, I like it.

"So you want to know the details huh, to start with, I grew up in Newcastle it was nice there but I didn't get to see all that much because we moved to London not long after because we wanted to be closer to family. I began playing football when I was 4 and ever since then I've fell in love with the game and everything to do with it." I'd be there all day if I had to tell her everything, I'm sure that I'll have the opportunity to uncover the past a little more but for now, that's what I'd come up with.

"That's quite cool actually, I've never been to Newcastle but its a place I certainly wouldn't mind visiting. Very nice how you moved so you can be closer to family, family is also everything to me aswell and without them I don't think I'd be in the same situation I am now. Playing for my dream football club and constantly surrounded by those that I love. It is just perfect and personally, I wouldn't have it any other way." Wow that is really good to know actually. I'm going to keep all of that in mind as I'm sure it'll be necessary in the future.

We were nearing the end of our walk as I could see Leah's car in the distance, once we got in she began to drive back towards my house to take me home. Occasionally she'd be bopping her head along to the rhythm of the song which I found cute. As we pulled up to the driveway of my house I came up with an idea which I really hoped went to plan.

"Do you want to come inside and watch a movie with me, I could use your company?" Without hesitation I just blurted that out, as Leah looked over to me I seen her form a small smile as in appreciation to my offer.

"Yes of course I would, thank you for that." Leah told me, clearly happy that I had asked, this was going to be fun I couldn't wait.

When I unlocked the door, I began to make my way to the kitchen with Leah trailing behind me like a little lost puppy, I'm sure she'd get more comfortable as time went on. I grabbed the popcorn from the cupboard and poured it into the bowl ready for us to pick at, I also got some bars of chocolate from the drawer for us to snack on as the movie went on.

We had decided on watching The Hunger Games, one of my favourite movies so I was very glad about that. As we both got more comfortable I got us a couple of blankets to keep warm and snuggly. The movie began and it was peaceful, I enjoyed being around Leah because she was calm, at least for now she was. Halfway through I noticed that Leah's breathing had evened out a bit so I assumed she was on the verge of sleep. I began to lie her down so it was better for her, and I continued to watch the movie. A little later I felt a tug at my hand as Leah had grabbed over and interlocked our fingers together. I smiled at this.

I really liked Leah, she was easy to get along with and she was fun to be around, so I hoped that she would be in my life for as long as possible...

a/n, i just realised that there is a slight age gap between Leah and Kourtney so let's pretend that Leah is a bit younger. these take me quite a while to write so please be patient. i hope you enjoyed, feedback is appreciated and any ideas for future parts :))
