𝐴/n : in this one shot, your the ninth member of stray kids and have been living the dorms for a good 3 years now.

It was currently 1am.everything was quite and peaceful, the only sound being the occasional songs the crickets outside would sing. You loved the night, it was so calm and peaceful and the perfect time to just relax and think. You were currently in your dorm room on your phone scrolling through Pinterest. You had taken a nap that afternoon and had woken up at around 8pm so you knew you'd be awake for a while.

You were glad that it was a weekend, that meant that you could sleep in as much as you wanted without being interrupted.About half an hour had gone by before you heard a soft knock at you door. You quietly stood up from from your bed and walked over to the door, being careful not to make too much noise as you did so.

You slowly opened it to reveal a very tired looking hyunjin in pajamas with a stuffed animal that you gifted him for his birthday in his hands. His hair was messy and you could practically feel the tiredness radiating off him. It took you one look at the bags under his eyes and the dried tear marks on his face to know he had another nightmare.

You and hyunjin had been best friends since you joined straykids as the new member and made your debut. you were always so cheerful around others and you were determined to be his friend.

Something about the way he was just made you want to befriend him, maybe it was because of the kind of vibe he would give off. Whatever it was, the two of you gradually became closer and eventually he started opening up to you more.

STAY's  went  crazy for the both of you, always shipping you two together and posting about how cute you guys looked. One time you and hyunjin did a partnered photoshoot for Versace and Louis Vuitton since both of you were the brand ambassadors and let's just say , ever since then, you and hyunjin have been all anyone's been talking about.

Soon enough, you two started dating and now you had been together for a little over a year.

When he was sent on a hiatus, he felt horrible. He started thinking really negative things about himself like how 'stay only see him as the visual of the group and don't actually care about his singing or dancing skills' and how he thought that 'maybe straykids were better off without him'

Hearing him talk about himself in that way made your heart hurt so you tried your best to do things to cheer him up. Eventually he did go back to join the rest of his members and you were so happy for him but one day he opened up to you about how it affected him and how he would occasionally get nightmares about the incident.

You were very understanding about the entire situation and whenever he told you about a nightmare, you would always be there for him to help him get through it and fall back asleep.

Sometimes the nightmares weren't that bad and you would just stay with him just for a while before he fell back asleep again. On rare occasions though, the nightmares got really bad. To the point where he would sometimes cry a bit in his sleep or start shaking. Today seemed to be one of those nights.

You  gently ushered the sleepy boy into your room and quietly closed the door, the soft 'click' sound it made being the only sound in the room. You turned to face the brown haired male to see him already looking at you with tired eyes.

"Nightmares?" you asked, your voice in a whisper.he gave you a tired nod , confirming your assumption. You walked over and sat in you bed and patted the spot next to you, signalling for him to join you. He got in the bed with you as he laid his head on your lap.

Over the months that you and him were together, you figured out that this was one of the best ways to help him calm down and so, this became a normal thing for you two. You began playing with his already messy hair, massaging his scalp a little.

"Do you wanna talk about it right now?" you asked in a hushed voice. He shook his head,"tomorrow." he replied, his voice coming out deeper and more husky as he relaxed further into your touch.

To hyunjin, his nightmares always seemed to disappear when you were around. He loved the way you would play with his hair, making small shapes with your fingers as you did so, the way you would hum lullabies to him as he nestled in your lap. He loved everything about you and vowed to always protect you and make you happy because losing you was not an option. You made him feel understood and you were always his number one supporter.

You let a small smile grace your features as you felt him relax. You hummed a small lullaby from your childhood that he seemed to love as he drifted further and further into sleep. When you were sure he was fast asleep, you looked at him one last time, taking a mental image of how peaceful he looked while sleeping and storing it in your brain before carefully removing his head from your lap and placing a pillow under his head.

You carefully shimmied into your blankets as to not accidentally wake him up by moving too much.You gently placed a kiss on his forehead before checking the time on your phone. It was now 3am and sleep was finnaly calling to you so you closed your eyes and tried to sleep. Shortly after that though, you felt a pair of strong arms wrap themselves around you, bringing you closer to your boyfriend.

You felt him bury his face into your hair as he placed a small kiss on top of your head. "Good night y/n".he said his voice barely audible " good night hyunjin, I love you"you said as you nuzzled closer to him. "I love you more " he replied as the both of you drifted off into sleep.
