I no longer like to do author notes in chapters, but this needs to be said.

Loki and Peter have no romantic relationship. Ever. In this book. Loki does not have a love interest in this book. Despite Loki being close to Peter's age in Earth years, it feels icky to have them romantically involved. The same goes for Loki and Tony. Loki is an adult on Asgard but a minor on Earth.

Peter's relationship with Peter and Tony is strictly platonic. I believe platonic relationships need more attention. Yes, people will do almost anything for their partner, but also for their friends.

Remember this further in the book. I understand some of the scenes I write may be interpreted as romantic, but I am autistic, as well as asexual and aromantic; understanding romance is complicated for me. What I think is normal and platonic, other people see as romantic.

_____

Once the group is out of earshot, Clint rounds on Tony. "What the hell, Tony? Why is that murdering psychopath here? I trusted you enough that I didn't freak out when he showed up, but I want answers now."

"Easy, Wings. Ask Thor. He can tell you what he told me."

"I do apologize for returning to Earth so suddenly with my brother. When I visited our Father, he revealed some interesting news. Loki did not attack Midgard of his own accord. A being, a Titan, was mind-controlling my brother, much like with yourself, Clint. I noticed something was off when I first fought Loki. It took me until we had subdued him to realize what it was. During the fight, Loki's eyes were blue, the same color Clint's eyes turned. Loki's eyes are green. They were green once more after we defeated him. I wasn't sure, but I brought it to the All Father. I love my brother and did not want Odin to punish him for something he may not have willingly done. Odin said he would look into it. Loki was refined to a cell on Asgard to keep up public appearances. When I returned, Odin released Loki because we found out that he had truly not been in control of his actions. The people of Asgard won't take his release so easily, so Odin sent Loki with me to work the rest of his punishment off. My brother isn't the easiest person to get along with, but he did not attack this realm by himself."

Clint deflates. "We all know a little bit about being forced into doing something. We can't blame the guy."

"Thank you, friend."

"Just don't expect him to become my new best friend."

Tony claps Clint on the back. "Oh, why not? He seems right up your alley."

"What are you talking about?"

"His immaturity level. He was acting like a rebellious teenager. 'You're not my dad. I don't have to listen to you.' You two will get along great."

"Fuck you, Tony."

"Well, on Midgard, Loki would be close to what you consider a teenager," Thor's usually loud voice breaks through the group with a whisper.

Silence reigns, for once, as they all turn to stare at Thor.

"WHAT?" Natasha asks, deadly calm.

"On Asgard, Loki is older than a thousand, but on Earth, he'd be about seventeen, therefore, a teenager."

"Thor, you are not seriously telling me we fought a child and allowed Asgard to imprison him!" Clint shouts angrily.

Clint's attitude change surprises Thor. Two minutes ago, Clint didn't want anything to do with Loki, and now he's passionately defending him. "He wasn't imprisoned. It was more like grounding. Odin had to keep up appearances for our people."
