Hey, y'all, my grandmother's dog died a few days ago. I thought I wouldn't update this book for a while because of it, but I actually wrote this chapter as a distraction. it's not up to par with my other chapters, but at least I updated.

"Peter," Loki says forcefully, stopping Peter in the middle of his latest tirade. "Chill for a second and actually explain why you want me to go on a date with your friend." She tosses her hairbrush at Peter, using the mirror to aim. The hairbrush smacks Peter's chest and falls to the carpet.
Peter stops pacing and narrows his eyes. "Did you just throw a brush at me?"
"Yes, and I'll do it again unless you start making sense. Since you busted in here five minutes ago, all you've done is babble about how cute MJ and I will be as a couple. We barely know each other despite going to school together for a few weeks"
Peter stops pacing and flops backward on Loki's bed. "You will be! It's so obvious that MJ likes you! Do you not see how she acts around you at school?"
"I do not waste energy on the fleeting fancies of Midgardian children, which is what MJ is. A child, Peter. It would be inappropriate for us to have a romantic relationship." Loki slips a black hair bow onto her wrist and runs her fingers through her hair. She starts to braid her hair as Peter speaks.
"You're a teenager, MJ's a teenager. There's nothing inappropriate about it."
"I'm a teenager who has lived over a thousand years. It's gross. I won't date her."
Peter rolls onto his side and meets Loki's eyes in the mirror. "Come on! It's the perfect plan. You can go on a date with MJ and ask her all of your questions about being a girl! It will be so cute for your first girlfriend to teach you the ropes."
"Are you assuming I've never dated anyone before?"
Peter shrugs, an awkward motion to make while lying down. "You've never mentioned any exes before."
"Despite being sort of an outcast on Asgard, I was never without my choice of suitors. I had men and women alike throw themselves at me. Everyone wants to be noticed by royalty - even if their only option is the second-rate prince. However, I never heeded any of them. I never found myself attracted to anyone on Asgard. Nor am I attracted to MJ. She is lovely, but I will never see her as anything more than a friend."
Peter groans. "You are so stubborn!"
"Pot, meet kettle." Loki ties the end of her braid off and turns to the side to admire how it looks.
"Just one date," Peter begs. "I've already told MJ that you want to go out."
"You didn't," Loki says, horrified.
Peter smiles, smug. "I did, so you have to go on at least one date. Just try this. Please, for me."
Loki closes her eyes, ignoring the triumphant look Peter is no doubt sporting. Peter knows Loki can't resist his puppy-dog eyes. "When?"
"Yes!" Peter does a fist pump. "I thought you girls could go to the carnival in the park this afternoon since it's Saturday, but it's too late. Maybe tomorrow?"
"I am agreeing to only one date."
"That's all I ask. Even if things don't work out, it'll be good for you to have someone to talk to about being a girl. MJ won't hold a grudge if you don't want to go on a second date."
"Joy. I can't wait," Loki mumbles.
Peter pats her shoulder as he opens the door. "I'll be back. My phone is on the common floor and I need to text MJ the info for your date." Loki nods in acknowledgment, puts her earbuds in, and rifles through her dresser for pajamas. Peter runs face-first into Thor's hard chest when he steps out of the room because his focus is on Loki instead of what is in front of him.
