The day Cancer died

Scorpio's pov

"That was fun." Pisces said holding a massive bag of candy up for me to see.

"Who would think that a kid would want a Halloween themed birthday party, in July?" I asked and Pisces nodded.

"Only a Cancer would do that."

"Hey, I will have you to know that Cancers have the best type of birthday parties. You guys can't disagree." He argued and showed off his bag.

"I can, I didn't even get a bag." I said and they gave me a pity look as we rounded the corner.

"Okay, you get to share with me my bag if you don't tell the others." Pisces decided and opened the door.

"You're finally back, did everything go well?" Gemini asked as soon as we entered the house. I noticed how Pisces and Cancer hid the bags behind their backs.

"Yep, we got a job and we prepared a party for some kids." Pisces said trying to get past.

"Party? Did you guys get any sweets?" He asked curiously trying to look over their shoulders.

"Nope, but I really need to use the bathroom. Could you let me past?" She tried and he let her past.
Just as she was about to go upstairs Libra popped out and tried to talk to her.

"Scorpio wants to tell you something, isn't it right Scorpio?" She said with a hidden meaning.

Libra turned to me questioning and I tried to think of a quick lie.
"Uh, yea. I wanted to ask you how um."

Behind Libra I saw Pisces waving the bag of candy in the air.

"To tie my shoelaces, yea that's what I wanted to ask." I said pointing at my shoes. Libra shrugged and told me he could help.

"Okay so let me see, Scorpio your shoes don't even have laces." He said disappointed. I looked down and saw that he was right, dammit.

"Scorpio, are you trying to distract me?" He said with a raised eyebrow.

"Am I not allowed to talk to my favourite cousin anymore?" I replied also raising my eyebrow.

"And since when was I your favourite cousin?"

"I mean, I am your favourite so I need to repay you by letting you be my favourite."

"You are my only cousin." He stated and I shrugged.

"Does anyone want a drink?" Gemini asked me and Libra. We both nodded and he and surprisingly Cancer went to bring the drinks. They both handed us a cup and we went over to the living room.

On the way there the door to the house suddenly got kicked up and the fire signs entered the house holding something behind their back.
Gemini and Cancer continued to the living room together while Libra went to go ask the fire signs what they were doing.

"You brought a what!" The pink haired yelled and they all laughed.

"I tried to stop them but they didn't listen." Aries said.

"The point of this was to get a job so that we could get some money to some dinner, not an extra belly to feed!" He continued angrily.
"Take it out!"

By this point almost everyone came downstairs to go look what was going on.

"But Libra isn't he cute?" Sagittarius asked and shoved a, dog in his face? At least I think it was a dog.

"No, don't you know how much effort it takes to take care of a dog? It's already enough work with you guys."

"But he is so cute, Libra you have to admit it." Leo said and Libra picked the dog up.
