•Bailey POV
"Good morning beautiful," was the first thing I heard when I woke up. I turned and looked at Lawrence.
"What did you just say?" I asked in disbelief.
"I said good morning beautiful." Lawrence gave me a kiss on the forehead.
"Thank you." I smiled and sat up.
"For what?"
"Everything." I got up and sat on the side of the bed.
Lawrence got up and answered the door. Someone had been pounding on it for two minutes. Sarah rushed in. You could tell by the look in her face that something was wrong.
"Sarah, are you ok?" She broke. Tears were streaming down her cheeks and her eyes began to turn red. I couldn't understand a word she was saying.
"It's Jace," she said looking up at me with her beaten and watery eyes. "He's going to, to," whatever she was thinking about made her cry harder.
"What about Jace?" I took her over to the bed.
"Pip likes Jace. Pip is great and pretty and charming. I'm just plain old me. So Jace is going to dump me for her." It all came spilling out at once. She cried harder and harder. Then Claire burst in the room.
"You were dating Jace?" She had to use the word 'were.'
"Yeah, but now he is going to dump me for someone prettier and smarter and thinner and just plain better." Sarah sat back up a bit straiter. Then Claire just about slapped Sarah as hard as she could.
"Quit it! You are being a downer. Chill out. Things will work out." Claire exclaimed.
"But-" Claire slapped the shit out if Sarah again.
"I don't want to hear it! You need to be a man and suck it up! I'm ending this little pity party." Claire crossed her arms.
"Stop slapping me!" Sarah screamed and stood. Even though she was a bit shorter than Claire, I knew Sarah could hold her ground. Sarah shook her head and left.
"At least you now know that they were dating." I shrugged.
"No wonder she's been acting so weird lately." Claire said and left.
