All four of them stood there on the blacktop, waiting for the plane to arrive with Laswell and the new member of the team. Soap shuffled slightly where he stood. He checked his watch. The plane should be there within 10 minutes. He glanced at Price and Gaz, who were standing on his right. Gaz straightened his shirt slightly, and Price adjusted his hat. He then looked to Ghost who was standing on his left. He was statuesque, stoic as ever. At least one of them wasn't nervous. He thought.

"...So... What do you think they'll be like?" Said Gaz, breaking the silence. All three of them looked at him.

"From whit I've heard, they're quite a force te be reckoned with." Said Soap. "Heard they've 'ad no casualties from any of the teams they've worked with."

"They're damn good at what they do." Price said. "Laswell herself trained them." Now that was news to them. Gaz and Soap looked at Price, wide-eyed.

"Yer kiddin'..."

"No way..."

"You know, I also heard they used to be a part of task force 441." Gaz said, looking at Soap.

"No way, yer jokin'."

The team had heard of task force 441 before. They were about as legendary as their own team. Deadly, efficient, arriving and leaving without a trace. But they disbanded over a year ago after their last mission when tails up. No one knows the real reason they disbanded, just that the team members had collectively decided to quit. Damn shame, too. Soap thought. He would've loved to have met them, possibly work alongside them.

"Heard they were a sniper." Ghost finally piped up, adding to the gossip. "A damn good one at that..."

Soap nudged Ghost. "Aw, ye'll be wantin' some shootin' lessons with them, aye?" Gaz and Price chuckled quietly. Ghost rolled his eyes behind his mask.

"Shut it, Johnny..."

"Look alive, plane's incoming." Said Price. All four of them straightened, hands behind their backs. They watched as the plane touched down and gently rolled in front of them. They all collectively held their breaths as the door opened.

What are they gonna look like? Are they tall? Are they strong? Are they covered in battle scars? Are they like Laswell? Or are they more casual? These thoughts swarmed around in Soap's head as he waited on bated breath for them to exit the plane.

Laswell stepped out first, and gave the team a smile. She walked down the steps and then looked back at the exit. The team watched intently. Then, they saw them.

A short person with a cane stepped through the exit. They slowly walked down the steps in order to not fall. The team noticed their limp as they stepped down.

Oh. Soap thought. That's not at all who he thought was going to walk out of the plane. He glanced around him to see his team's reaction. If they were surprised, they didn't show it.

You stood next to Laswell, eyeing the team nervously. Damn, they're a lot taller than I thought they'd be... Especially him... You glance at Ghost, who was already looking at you. You look away.

"Everyone, this is Officer Y/N L/N. They'll be a part of the team from this day forward." Laswell stated. The team gave her a nod.

Laswell motioned towards Price, who stepped forward. "This is Captain Price, an excellent leader and one of my good friends." He jutted out his hand and you took it. He gave you a warm handshake, a smile on his face.

"Welcome to the team, Officer L/N. We're very pleased to have you here." You're slightly shocked. Out of all the task forces you've worked with, this Captain was by far the nicest to you.
