Thank you all for readinggggggg! Another short chapter, I know. I promise the next chapter will be longer :)

A rush of adrenaline, a skip in the mind, a gush of fear, these were all things that made Leo portal his way into the fight- but most of all love. He wasn't thinking, he didn't have time to think, and frankly he didn't want to think. He needed to save Usagi, but first he needed to check if Usagi was even alive.

Big Mama was not very pleased with what she was looking down upon in her prime spot in the arena. Why was the blue-masked turtle jumping to Usagi's rescue? Most of all however, what did this mean in the terms of her agreement?

With a single snap of her fingers, her assistant brought the pile of paper which at the end had Usagi's life signed away. With another snap of her fingers, her assistant began scanning the text in order to find any form or sign of violation from the turtle joining in.

Usagi was Big Mama's prized possession, there is no way she was going to let him go.

Back on the ground of the arena, Leo's breaths got heavier and yet progressively more shaky at the same time.

"USAGI!" He screamed, crouching over the body that was mangled and bloodied. No, he didn't know Usagi, and no, he may never will, but still- Leo didn't know how to feel if he lost the singular person in his life that made his heart bounce.

Usagi wasn't going to die, he couldn't, he wouldn't.

Scowling with tears pricking at the corners of his eyes, Leo scooped Usagi's limp body into his arms (definitely not what he was expecting as their first real interaction), and quickly made a portal and jumped through right before another tentacle came crashing down.

The audience was stunned, where did they go?

Reappearing on the other end, Leo began screaming his brother's name frantically.

"DONNIE! DON!! DONNIE!!!!!!" Getting more breathless, the fact that Usagi's breathing was becoming even shallower finally set in. Leo screamed even louder, desperately.

"Leo! I'm here, geez!" Donnie said, rounding a corner in the sewer, "Woah! What happened here!?!"
"H-HELP! PLEASE! HELP HIM!" Leo said, his voice still raised.

"I'm mere inches away from you Leo, no need to keep screaming like that. Hurry up! Let's get him in the lab!" Donnie said, waving Leo to follow him.

"He's losing blood quickly, he's barely breathing, but he's still alive. Donnie please tell me he'll live!"
"Leo, you know I can't promise that, but I'll try my best." Donnie deadpanned, signaling Leo to lay Usagi onto the mattress in the lab so Donnie could take care of him.

"Is there anything I can do to help?"

"Well... I suppose since you're asking, here-" Donnie sighed, shoving a pair of scissors into Leo's palm, "start cutting the damp clothes so we can wrap his wounds."

More focused than Leo's ever been before, he began carefully trimming Usagi's pants into shorts and grimacing at the bone that was bent a way it should not be bent.

Slowly wrapping the fabric Donnie gave him around Usagi's ankle and knee, Leo was finally able to take a step back and get a good look at Usagi.

Even in Usagi's darkest state, even on the border of death, god was he beatiful.

"Hey? Earth to Leo??"

"Huh? What?" Leo stuttered.

"I asked you to leave the room, this next part won't be as... amazing to watch..." Donnie cautioned.

"Oh, yeah, alright." Leo frowned, he didn't want to leave Usagi's side but he knew Donnie was probably right, and Leo didn't want to see Usagi in pain.

It had been hours, and Leo was getting antsy. He thought he could handle it, but it turns out that waiting outside was worse.

"HEY LEO!!! HURRY UP AND GET IN HERE!!!" Donnie yelled, and on que Leo ran faster than the speed of light into the room next to Usagi's bed.

"IS HE ALRIGHT? WILL HE BE OK?" Leo asked frantically, looking Usagi up and down for any further damage his brother might have done. Surprisingly to Leo, Usagi looked a lot less damaged. Donnie was able to straighten his leg and de-mangle his limbs. Usagi was back to a normal breathing rate, but still completely knocked out.

"He'll be alright, but he's going to need constant monitoring. I suppose I could set up some night cameras and-"

"No need brother! I'll just sleep on the floor tonight!" Leo said more giddy than he was intending to.

"Alright... but no funny business AND I will be telling Mikey and Raph what's going on- and you know how overprotective Raph gets."
With an annoyed groan, Leo reluctantly agrees, "Alright, fine. I'm going to go grab a sleeping bag real quick though."

—----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It was a restless night for Leo. Every time he turned to his side and looked up he saw Usagi, his arm lying limply off the bed. He really wanted Usagi to just wake up, but at the same time he wanted him to rest. Leo was conflicted on top of being worried, he couldn't close his eyes for more than five minutes.

4:47am- Usagi began having a coughing fit and Leo didn't know what to do. Usagi still wasn't awake, but his breathing got heavier and it was almost like he was having a panic attack. Leo didn't know what to do, should he wake Donnie up? Should he try to wake Usagi up?

The coughing got heavier.

"Hey, hey, it's going to be alright. I'm here, Leo's here." Leo said, brushing Usagi's matted bangs back. Leo ran his hand down Usagi's arm light enough so he would cause any pain or harm, and it was working! Usagi began calming down, and the worry lines once stitched between his eyebrows loosened.

"I'm here, Leo's here." Leo kept repeating soothingly, he grabbed Usagi's hand and ran circles with his thumb over the back of Usagi's palm. Usagi formed a light smile in his slumber.

A large wheeze rattled Usagi's chest before he slightly chuckled and whispered,

"Take a picture, it'll last longer."
