"Brock?" Brock heard and he looked up, seeing Evan and Jon climbing up the ladder. "Brian!" Evan gasped and rushed forward, sliding on his knees next to them.

"I wasn't fast enough," Brock whispered, his tears still falling. Jon moved to gather Brock in his arms, Evan touching Brian's eyes to close them.

"Let's get him home," Evan said quietly and he scooped Brian into his arms, his wings coming out to help him glide down the cellar door. Brock staggered to his feet, staring at the blood on his hands as Jon helped him down the ladder.

They walked slowly to the cars, meeting the others. "Brian?" Tyler gasped and Brock shook, eyes squeezing shut. "Wait, I hear something," the woman Brock and Brian had saved said, tilting her head.

"Phoenix, we have enough power together, we may be able to save him, come here," she demanded and Brock walked over, one shaky hand being taken by hers.

He felt a tug at his core, his barriers falling as the Phoenix gave his power willingly. They watched as the woman let her spirit manifest, her dark hair turning a shimmering white as a pearl horn appeared on her head.

Brock and the Phoenix merged, his wings appearing as flames shone on his body. He felt his power be drawn into the woman, her horn glowing with a golden light. She moved to Brian, tilting her head so her horn touched the man's chest.

Everyone gasped as the brightest flash of light they'd seen appeared, shimmering with gold and white. It sank into Brian's skin, Brock waiting with trembling hands and bated breath.

Everyone waited tensely, eyes on the Pegasus. Brock's Phoenix rose it's head, hope and elation filling them. I can feel the Pegasus, he's alive, he said and Brock let out a cry, moving to touch Brian's cheek softly.

"He's alive, but very weak. We need to get him home so he can rest," Brock said, voice shaking. Evan held Brian closer, tears of relief in his eyes.

They all got into the cars, moving fast as alarms went off inside the building. Brock got into the back of Evan and Jon's car, Evan sliding Brian to him. He rushed around to the drivers side and put the car into drive, Jon having already started it.

The two the four had saved climbed in with Brock and Brian, the fit a little tight but the best they could do having one car short. Joe and the other two manifested saved separated into the other two cars, the car Brian and Brock drove abandoned. Brock couldn't drive it anyway.

The other two cars had already pealed out of the parking lot, Evan close behind. Brock held Brian close, eyes on the back window as swarms of guards appeared, holding weapons.

Brock thrust a thread of power out, creating a massive wall of red and blue flames. He heard the guards firing and he ducked down, but none of the bullets came through this time.

They flew through the gate and swerved onto the road, Brock grabbing the car handle to make sure he and Brian didn't topple. Brian didn't stir, face still pale but Brock took comfort in seeing his chest rise and fall shallowly.

Evan's phone rang and he answered it on speaker, "Yeah, you guys make it out okay?" Scott answered, "Yeah, we're all okay. We can't go back to the truck, they're bound to be following us. I'd say we get into the city where we can get rid of these cars and find others to take back to the house."

Evan nodded, glancing in his rear view mirror. "Okay, sounds good. If you guys find anything, give us a call. Call Tyler, make sure they're okay too," he said and Scott agreed before they hung up.

"What are your names? I probably should have asked that earlier," Brock asked the two beside him softly and the boy smiled faintly. "I'm Bryce. This is Ria, she's my wife," he said and Brock smiled softly at them.
