Everything begins to go into overdrive once we tell Chris's family and mine about our engagement - and if I'm not planning a wedding? I'm reading lines, and if I'm not reading lines then I'm filming, or doing interviews, or making public appearances.
I barely see Chris for at least a month or two as I'm over in the UK for reshoots, and then when I'm back he's also away on a press tour. Sure, we facetime but it's not the same as being there when the other gets back.
More and more rumours came out while I was over in London, one being that we'd broken up and I was home again. To be honest the picture really does look like I'm miserable, but they'd caught me first thing in the morning leaving my home and running on three hours of sleep.
Jet lag is a bitch. Still, at least they don't think I'm pregnant, nor have they found out about the wedding. I'm keeping my ring under wraps and never wearing it in public. Not until the my actual wedding ring is finally on my finger anyway - even then I'm not sure I want to debut it for fear of everything becoming crazy.
I curl up in bed and see a link that Chris has sent through about a potential wedding venue. It's beautiful, right here in Boston and intimate enough to not feel like it would be overwhelming for us both on the day.
I call him and he answers straight away. "Hey you". He greets me tenderly, and I now feel the painful pang of missing him.
"Hey, I just checked out the venue you sent through - it's gorgeous".
"Nice and private too. I had a chat with them earlier, and they assured me we wouldn't be hounded by the media. All their staff would sign NDA's as well if we wanted.
I frown. "I mean, is it necessary?"
"It is if we wanna keep this from everyone". He replies, "they have a date available in 3 months..."
"Three months! We can't pull that off, we both work, I haven't even got a dress and then there's alterations and...."
Chris laughs. "Woah, calm down Barbie - it's just a suggestion. We don't have to take it, but it's open for us if we want to. Look, why don't we go take a look at it when I'm home and see how we feel about it?"
Am I ready to get married in three months if we do decide to go with it? We didn't exactly want a long engagement anyway.
"Yeah, ok". I smile lightly, "guess I'd better start looking for a dress", laughing at the fact that it's evident that we're going to have just under three months to plan this. I know we're both going to fall in love with this venue.
"I'll be home before you know it, only two more days - I've missed you".
"Missed you too. I'll see you soon". I tell him and we hang up.
I don't expect to cry myself to sleep.
**
Once Chris is home, we take a trip to see the venue in question - all while being fully aware that we could be seen. It's just a risk that we need to take.
Obviously we want to include Dodger and thankfully this place is more than happy to accommodate. It's even more beautiful than the pictures, and I immediately knew when we walked in that this is the place I can see myself saying our vows.
"What do you think?" Chris asks, putting his arm around me as were left to take another look around by ourselves.
I turn to him and grin. "It's perfect".
"They have some dates for next year if we wanted to wait a little longer..." he tells me, knowing that I've still been a little unsure of whether we could pull this off in three months.
I shake my head, my decision having been made from the moment I walked into this place. "No. I want to do it as soon as possible".
He grins. "You sure?"
I slip my arms around his neck and kiss him. "I just wanna marry you. Three months or even less - I don't care".
His lips brush over mine. "Alright, let's see if that date's still available eh?" He suggests and with one last kiss, we take a final walk around before going to find the venues wedding coordinator.
We leave with a date set for just twelve weeks time, and now our focus turns from work to finally being able to day "I do".
