Hall Of Mirrors
A hall of mirrors is a mysterious space filled with impenetrable mirrors, creating a confusing labyrinth of endless reflections.Anna was dreaming. She dreamed of being at home, with her parents and her two cute cats. She lay in her bed, snuggled deep into her warm blanket, with her two cats lying next to her. She felt comfortable. She would prefer to fall asleep again and never wake up - "ANNA!!"
She jolted awake in shock. Where was she? She wasn't in her room. She was sitting on an old mattress. Her cats were no longer there; instead, an annoyed Damien stood over her. She sighed inwardly; at least he could stay in her dream.
"Well, you're finally awake. Did you sleep well?" he asked, grinning.
"I'd rather keep sleeping," she muttered and got up. Where were they, anyway? The only thing she remembered before falling into her dream was that she fell. And those creepy children. As she looked around the room, she shivered. She saw herself. Multiple times. Mirrors were everywhere.
"These stupid kids trapped us in a hall of mirrors," Damien explained, annoyed.
"We should find a way out as quickly as possible," Anna suggested.
Anna and Damien wandered through the hall of mirrors, where the infinitely reflecting corridors stretched in all directions. The faint light from the lamps on the walls cast eerie shadows, and the reflections seemed to move as they passed by. Anna could hardly breathe; her timid nature made her jump at every unexpected sound.
Just as they entered another corridor, they heard children's voices coming from the darkness. It was Lilly and Maxi. "We need to hide," Anna said, frightened, and hid behind Damien.
"Hide? From children? Who do you think I am?" Damien asked angrily, cracking his knuckles as he approached the laughter. Anna didn't know what to do, so she just followed Damien, even though this was a very bad idea. The laughter didn't get closer, no matter how far they went.
"They're too scared to come to us, those stupid kids!" Damien laughed. Anna noticed that Damien was slowly going crazy; he was sweating. Was he scared?
Suddenly, the giggling stopped, and two voices sounded directly above them.In a fairyland, so vast and wide,
There were five kingdoms, in joy and sorrow they'd abide.
The wind blew strong in its land so far and wide,
Plants grew incessantly, without envy or pride. The fire burned hot, in its flaming domain,
Water flowed calmly, clear and plain.
The light illuminated what in darkness did hide,
But then came a beast, threatening all, far and wide.It roared wild and furious, devoured with greed,
The kingdoms trembled in fear, the beast did feed.
Yet the five kings summoned their power and might,
With courage and hope, they united to fight. The wind blew strong, pushed the beast away,
Plants grew swiftly, bringing joy to their day.
The fire burned hot, seized the beast with force,
The water drowned it, in a dark, stormy course. The light illuminated what was hidden from sight,
And so the kings uncovered the beast's blight.
Together they battled for their beloved land,
Defeated the beast with a united hand. But the kingdoms were wounded, that's clear to see,
And the valiant rulers are no longer to be.
Yet in our hearts, their tale forever will reside,
Of the five kingdoms, where evil they did chide."What kind of rhyme was that? I've never heard it before," she thought.
"What do you want, you silly kids!?" Damien yelled. "Let us out!"
"Oh Maxi, I find the man very mean," Lilly said, sounding offended.
"Yeah, let's give them a quick end," Maxi giggled from above.
Suddenly, the walls started moving, closing in on them. Anna grabbed Damien's sleeve in shock; they were going to be crushed. The dark-haired boy grabbed Anna and started running. But no matter how many corners they turned, the mirrors kept closing in, and everything became tighter. Laughter from the children filled the cabinet.
Before long, both of them were stuck, the mirrors pressing them closer together. Anna had been crying the whole time; it hurt. She kept wondering why she had come here.
