The Last One
Who won?The words hit like a shock. Dex struggled to breathe as his thoughts spiraled. A loop? A sense of unreality washed over him as he tried to process Twisty's words. Was this all a nightmare? A crazy dream from which he would soon wake up? But the clown's serious expression revealed that this was all too real.
"This is just a bad joke, right? You just want to mess with me and then kill me," Dex said, not wanting to believe such nonsense. He was in a damn circus; not everything was reality. Everything was just an illusion to drive him insane.
"Didn't you ever feel like you've been here before?" Twisty asked, or Dex, or whoever he was.
"No! I-I don't feel anything! I don't understand anything!" He began to scream. "Do you think I knew this was a damn dead game? I just wanted to have fun with my friend, but I guess he's already dead, like everyone else! And now I should have been here before? And I should know this!? I know nothing! I don't want to understand anything, I just want to go home!"
Twisty watched as Dex slowly broke down into tears while continuing to rant. After a while, Dex fell silent and whispered, "Just kill me now if you have to." A shiver ran through Twisty's body. He could. He really could. But he was afraid. If he... if Casper wasn't satisfied with the ending, he might repeat the game. But there was one thing Twisty wanted; he wanted Dex to win the final game himself but also wanted Dex to know the truth. The truth about his existence. "we are the same people, Dex" Twisty began to speak with a soft tone, slowly the brown haired boy looked up to him, tears were rolling down his cheeks, still he looked puzzled about Twistys words. "I was just like you, a player in this horrible game... i always took the second place and Casper slowly had a liking to me. He explained everything to me about this loop and the games and why. He asked me to join his circus so i dont need to experience death.. over and over again.. I took his offer but i made a deal with him. We have souls in our bodys, they make us live. So i asked Casper if he can split my soul in half. I will join his circus and the other half, you, should be freed from this circus and live a normal life. He accepted the deal but i should've known that this fool never stood by his words."Dex listened to him, trying to make sense with all of this.
"He didnt let you be free and just put you in the same place where i was once." Twisty lips began shake a bit and hes eyes became red, as he was holding back tears. "im so sorry..." he apologies, his body was shaking. Twisty has seen Dex failure over and over again, it was destiny to be so close to the end but gets killed and takes the second place.
Dex stayed silent, so his soul his is just the other half of Twistys. His other side put a hand on his cheeks where his scar was. "Do you know where you got the scar?"
The brown haired boy shook his head.
"Casper wasn't careful in the progress of splitting us in half and your soul got a crack in it."
"But why.." began Dex to question "Why does he do this? This game..? Everything!"
"Casper is a Aeondemon. These are immensely powerful demons and should have been locked away, a long time ago but somehow he escaped. He just wants to see humas suffer. We all know we cant stop him, hes to powerful. Who on earth can reborn people over and over again? If he wants he can control us and do things even if we dont want to. If he gets bored of this game... the world will be doomed." his voice got very eary at this point.
He stood up from his chair and released Dex from his restraints. The brown-haired man looked up at him in confusion, and in response, Twisty handed him his red nose.
"Find the second object."
And now, Dex stood in front of Twisty's wagon, the red nose in his hand. His first object. Dex tried to understand what Twisty just said to him. Is there a way to stop Casper or is this just the end...
