Pinny's POV
"I am worried. Why isn't he answering his phone?"
"He left from morning say him going somewhere and I know it's not at the hospital him gone," Junie said.
All calls to him were going straight to voicemail. If it wasn't the hospital then where the hell was he?
"Him probably went to clear his head," Grandma said.
"Wait... what if he is on his way to Falmouth? See Tony I knew we should have told him we are coming," I said.
"Maybe we should go to the hospital instead of waiting here," said Briah.
"That's a good idea, I will stay here with Junie and the baby just let us know what's going on.." Grandma said.
I took Tony one side to speak with him because I felt out of place.
"What if he doesn't want me here?" I asked.
"Why him wouldn't want you here at the worst time in his life, Pinny?"
"We haven't spoken and I just feel like I am intruding, worse we came and he isn't here."
"Stop overthinking, he will be happy that you show up to support him."
"I mean I went to his bedroom, he had a picture of us on our wedding day by the bedside table, the picture was facing down," I told Tony.
"Pinny stop paying them things dem mind nuh man, all you have to do is put it back up," he said.
His solutions were always so simple.
"I didn't want to do that Tony but I am saying why is the picture facing down?"
"Who knows but Aaron. The man could be in his feelings and the picture triggered him. Stop worrying about minor things."
It seemed minor to him but it was really a big deal to me. It's like I was able to see how he felt about us.
"You will not understand Tony but I get what you are saying, we have bigger issues at hand."
"Right, are we going to the hospital or not?"
"Yeah, l guess we are."
Tony, Briah and I decided to go to the hospital. When Ms. Lions was awakened but we could only see her if a family member was present.
"I am here daughter-in law" I said to the doctor.
"Tell her that Marisa Jackson is here and she will let you know if she wants to see her," Briah said to the doctor.
What a hell if she said she didn't want to see me.
"You haven't seen her son?" I asked.
"Not since yesterday, I will be right back," she said then left.
