Speak Now (Beronica)

Betty's POV

I was standing outside their wedding venue. I had of course been invited but I couldn't go. It would've hurt too much to see her marrying someone else and Archie definitely did not want me there

Jughead- "Betty?" I turned around and saw Jughead standing there in his best man tux which made me feel even worse. Jughead- "I didn't think you were going to come" Betty- "I didn't either but here I am" Jughead- "Archie would probably flip if he knew you were here" Betty- "I know, but I had to see her" he nodded as I sighed. Jughead- "do you want me to show you a way in? There's a back entrance that not a lot of people know about"

I bit my lip as I looked passed him at a sign that welcomed people to the wedding before I nodded my head. I don't know what my plan was but I knew I wanted to be inside

He took me to the door and I found myself in the corner of a room in the back of the venue. I walked around a little trying to be careful but then I saw Cheryl and Toni by themselves

Betty- "h-hey" they both turned around and smiled when they saw me. Cheryl- "Be!? Oh my gosh" she hugged me as I laughed. Toni- "we thought Archie scared you off" Betty- "I'm not staying but I needed to see you guys" Cheryl- "aw Be you sure?"

I was about to respond when we heard yelling coming from the hallway. It was Archie yelling at Jughead about him letting me in. I guess he saw me and Cheryl and Toni noticed my face. Toni- "I'm sorry Betty" Betty- "yeah, I am too"

Toni hugged me before I carefully found my way into another room. I didn't want Veronica to know I was there but I did want to see her. After Archie forced her to be with him I knew seeing me was just going to ruin this day for both of us.. but I had a plan. I didn't tell anybody in case it didn't work but I had to try

I walked down the hall a little more and found the main room where the wedding was going to take place. I looked around and saw everything Veronica hated. She had a mix of blue and
white flowers when I knew she liked purple and white. There was so many things that I knew she never wanted for her wedding making it even sadder for me to see

I tried my best to stay out of sight as the oregon started playing. I quickly ducked behind a curtain as I saw the wedding party start to emerge. My hands were shaking and I was terrified but I had to do it

I carefully sat down in a free chair in the back of the room as we all stood for the bride. Her dress was terrible and I could tell she wasn't happy. The light from her eyes was dim at best and she just didn't have her normal fiery passion. I sighed as I watched her walk up to the altar and join Archie. I very quickly made eye contact with Toni as she carefully nodded which made me smile

I was fiddling with my hands and took a few deep breath's before I heard the preacher say speak now or forever hold your peace

I stood up with my hands shaking as everyone gasped and looked at me but I didn't care. My only focus was Veronica. We stared directly into each other's eyes as I smiled. Archie- "This is why I told you to keep her out of here" Jughead just scratched the back of his head as Veronica let go of Archie's hands

Betty- "I don't want to ruin this, but I love you too much to let you go Ve. So don't say yes. Run away with me and I'll meet at the back door"

She smiled as I headed for the door, I immediately heard heeled footsteps coming up behind me. Veronica- "Betty! Wait" I stopped dead in my tracks as she grabbed my hand and spun me around to face her. Betty- "I'm sorry, I-I shouldn't have said anything.. I'll just go" I tried to take my hand and run away but she pulled me back to her. Veronica- (smiles) "thank you" she hugged me tightly as I smiled

Betty- "come on, let's get out of here" she nodded as I took her hand and we ran out the door that I came in. I kept looking back at her to make sure she was actually okay with this and I saw the spark in her eyes. I smiled after I saw it as we go into my car and went to my apartment

I let her get changed as I sat on my bed and just waited to see her. As soon as she saw me she smiled and ran over to me and pushed me onto the bed

Betty- (giggles) "I missed you too" Veronica- "I'm sorry I left you, Archie was just- " I put my finger up to her lips and smiled. Betty- "no, don't talk about him" she rolled her eyes and kissed me as we stayed together for the entire night

The next day I woke up to her staring at me which made me happy. Betty- (smiles) "morning" Veronica- "morning Be" she kissed the top of my head as I put it on her shoulder. Veronica- "I know I said it yesterday, but thank you for getting me out of there" Betty- "of course, I couldn't just let you marry the biggest jerk on the planet" Veronica- "and I am very grateful"

I looked up with a smile as she leaned down and kissed me. Veronica- "I talked to Cheryl and Toni earlier" Betty- "oh yeah?" Veronica- "mhm, and they said they would come be our witnesses" my eyes widened as I sat up and met her eyes

Betty- "you mean..?" Veronica- (smiles) "Betty Cooper, will you marry me?" Betty- "yes! Of course yes" I straddled her lap and kissed her as she smiled into it. Veronica- "they're gonna meet us at town hall in about four hours.. is that okay" Betty- "I should be the one asking that, you're the one who ran away from your wedding" Veronica- "yeah, but isn't this kinda sudden for you? I at least thought today was going to be my first day as a married woman" Betty- "I guess, but yes I am definitely okay with this"

I kissed her again as we laid in bed for another hour before we started getting ready. I was about to get up when Veronica pulled me back. We sat on the bed as she tucked a piece of hair behind my ear. Veronica- "you're a hundred percent sure Be?" Betty- (smiles) "a thousand percent." She laughed and kissed my cheek before she got up and went into the closet. She came back out in a white summer dress with lace sleeves and a fake flower crown

Veronica- "so.. what do you think" I looked at her eyes and I smiled because I knew she was actually happy. Betty- "you look gorgeous" I stood up and twirled her around as she giggled. Betty- "even though you do not need it, you go do your makeup and I'll get dressed" she nodded and kissed my cheek.

I got dressed in a white tank top dress with a cream coloured cardigan on top. I looked at myself in the mirror and let out a few tears. I was so focused that I didn't notice Veronica coming up from behind me. She wrapped her arms around my waist and put her head on my shoulder. Veronica- (whispered) "you look my beautiful" Betty- (sniffles) "thank you" she turned me around and kissed me. Veronica- (smiles) "now let's go get married" I nodded my head as she giggled and took my hand before leading me out of the apartment

We got to town hall and met up with Cheryl and Toni who swooned over us

Cheryl- "oh my gosh you two are so cute!" Toni- "yeah, thank god Betty stopped the wedding" I smiled but then realized something. Betty- "w-what about Archie?" Toni- "we'll make sure he doesn't bother you too" Cheryl- "definitely" Betty- "thank you guys" I hugged both of them as Veronica kept holding onto my hand

Toni- "alright, you two ready?" I looked at Veronica as she nodded. Betty- "definitely!"

And we came out a married couple. We spent the next week just cudded up in bed which was our favourite thing to do. I still can't believe I worked up the courage to go there and stop the wedding but I am so glad I did.
