(Beronica) The Affair

Betty

Betty- "Ve we shouldn't be doing this anymore" Veronica- "I know, but I can't stop it Be"

I was laying in bed next to her playing with her hair while our husbands were on a business trip. This wasn't the first time we did this and we both knew it wouldn't be the last

Veronica-  "what time are they coming back?" Betty- "the day after tomorrow" Veronica- "so we have until then?" I smiled as she grabbed my hand and kissed it. Veronica- "whats the worst that can happen? It's not like you can get me pregnant" Betty- "yeah but Reggie can, and Jughead loves me" Veronica- "but I love you too" Betty- "but you can't, you shouldn't"

She rubbed my cheek with her hand as a tear rold down my face. Veronica- "don't cry Be, it'll be okay" Betty- (in tears) "but it's not, Jughead wants to start trying" Veronica- "you've always wanted to be a mom" Betty- (cries) "but I don't want to with him!" I immediately covered my mouth and sat up in bed. Betty- (softly) "I don't want to with him." She sat up and rubbed my back. Veronica- "you've never said that before?"

I shook my head as I started crying into my hands. She wrapped her arms around me before pulling me into her lap. Veronica- "it's okay, everything is going to be okay" she rocked me slowly as I buried my head in the crook of her neck. Veronica- (softly) "we'll figure something out" I nodded before we got up and got dressed

A few days later

Jughead- "hey Betts, can we talk?" I looked at him on the couch before clearing my throat. Betty- "what about Jug?" Jughead- "well.. we have a nice house, plenty of money and all we're missing is a couple of kiddos running around" Betty- "I-I dunno Jug, I mean we're still young. We have time"

He sighed and moved closer to me as I closed the book I was holding. Jughead- "Betty? Do you wanna have a baby with me?" Betty- "I mean not right now b-but maybe soon I-I just don't think I'm- " Jughead- "it's a yes or no question. Do you want to have a baby." Betty- "then no, I don't"

We both stopped moving for almost a full minute before he ran his hand down his face. Jughead- "why didn't you say anything?" Betty- (in tears) "I didn't want to disappoint you, I'm sorry Jug I really am" Jughead- "but we talked about having family all through high school, we we're gonna name our first daughter Juliet, what happened?" Betty- "I-I don't know" Jughead- "Betts, we both know that's not true. I'm away a lot.. and I found a bra in the house that's definitely not yours"

I started crying harder and buried my face in my hands. Betty- (cries) "I'm sorry, I didn't mean for this to happen" he sat next to me and hugged me while I cried. Jughead- "I just want you to be happy Betts, that's all. And if not being with me makes you happy, then I'm not going to stand in your way"

I started to calm down as he smiled at me. Jughead- "so who's the lucky lady" I blushed as he chuckled. Jughead- "well you and Veronica are going to be very happy" Betty- "wha- how did you know?" Jughead- "had a feeling, but seriously I support you Betty" Betty- "thanks Jug, and I know you're going to find someone special and you're going to have the cutest little babies"

He smiled and gave me a hug before I went upstairs to call Veronica

Veronica

I was sitting alone in the corner with tears rolling down my face. The only thing protecting me from the elements was a blanket he threw at me. He found out and he wasn't happy. I just hugged my knees and stared at the corner of the room. I stayed line that for a minute before I heard my phone ring. I grabbed it quickly from the chair where Reggie threw it and answered Betty's call

(On the phone)

Betty- "hey Ve!" Veronica- "B-Betty?" Betty- "wait, what's wrong. What happened?" Veronica- (cries) "he found out" Betty- "oh my god, is he still there?" Veronica- (cries) "n-no" Betty- "okay, I'm on my way, I love you" Veronica- (sniffles) "I love you too"

(Off the Phone)

Betty- "Jug, I'm sorry, I have to go to Veronica's. Reggie found out a-and he did something to her and- I-I just I-" Jughead- "Hey, just take a deep breath. I'll drive you, it's going to be okay" I nodded before we ran out to the car and sped off to Veronica's house

I didn't even bother knocking I just ran in the door and searched for her. Betty- "oh my god, Veronica!"

I ran over to her and knelt down beside her. Veronica- (cries) "B-Betty" Betty- (softly) "can I touch you?" She nodded so I slowly pulled her into my arms. Betty- (in tears) "I-I'm so sorry, I didn't mean for this to happen" she cried harder than I had ever seen. She was my best friend and more and I never wanted to see her hurt or sad, seeing both happen hurt my heart more than I could ever explain

I stroked her cheek with my thumb as I rocked her slowly. Betty- (softly) "we're gonna get you outta here, okay? We're gonna get out of town and start again. The two of us. No matter what" she nodded. By then all her tears we gone but she still had her eyes glued shut. I picked her up bridal style and sat her on the bed. I handed her a pile of clean clothes and helped her get dressed

Betty- (softly) "I'll ask Jug to go home, he knows too, but he supports us" she nodded again and laid her head on me. I was sitting cross legged with her in my lap so I quickly texted Jughead but mainly kept my focus on her.

Like I had promised, we left Riverdale three days later. She wasn't herself and I didn't know if I would ever ger her back. It scared me more than I could ever admit. We bought a small apartment in New York and got eloped in the month. I was gentle with her, and everything we did from then on was her idea and all I wanted to do was protect her

Five years later

Veronica- "Be? Can we talk?" Betty- "sure, are you okay?" Veronica- "yeah, I just.. I think we should take the girls back home" Betty- "w-wait you mean back to Riverdale?" She nodded as our girls ran in the room.

A couple years ago, we adopted sisters who needed a home. Wren who was three and Sage who was one. Since them they've really grown and call Ve and I their forever moms. Wren was now five and Sage was three

Wren- "Mommas!" She ran into my arms as Veronica picked up Sage. Veronica- "hey babes" she kissed her cheek before setting her back down.etty- "Your mom and I were thinking that maybe we go on a fun road trip together" Wren- "really? That sounds fun" Veronica- "alright, let's go get a bag packed" she took Wren from my arms before taking them to their room

I went to our room and packed a bag for Ve and I. It took the rest of the day to pack so we decided to leave early the next morning. It was all of a sudden but it made sense and I think Ve was just trying to make sure she didn't change her mind. We tucked the girls into bed before we watched a little tv before going to bed ourselves

Betty- "is there a reason you want to go back now?" Veronica- "I think it's time, I mean it's where we met and where we fell in love with each other" Betty- "yeah, while we were married to other people." Veronica- "but now we have each other and two amazing girls" she smiled and kissed me before we quickly fell asleep

The next day we woke up and put the girls in the car. They were still sleeping so it was a quiet drive for the first few hours. When we got to town, we went back to Veronica's place that had been vacant for six years now.

Wren- "this was your house?!" Sage- "it's big!" I watched Veronica take a deep breath before taking Sage's hand. We walked in and everything was left in perfect condition. It didnt even look like we had left. Wren- "we should move here!" I looked at Veronica who was smiling at the girls and I could tell she was actually happy to be back.
