It was safe to say Tae and Klaus were a mess.

She left Klaus to himself after the stress of using his powers rendered him exhausted, a complete mess herself.

In fact, she returned to her room and cried some more into her bedsheets until she fell asleep, dreaming of wrapping her girls in a tight hug and it feeling so real it hurt.

When she awoke, she had no concept of how much time had passed, only that it was still daytime - which was strange because she felt as though she had slept half the day away.

She dragged herself to change her clothes, put on something without tear stained sleeves, and headed downstairs to see that nearly everyone was standing around the living room - including someone she didn't expect to see.

Klaus was sat chewing on one of his fingernails, legs drawn up on the couch.

She met his eyes from the doorway before Luther nearly took her out in his swift exit.

"Oh, sorry-" he blinked, putting a hand out to pass her by. "Didn't see you there."

She watched him go with a frown, wondering why everyone was downstairs and no one had bothered coming to get her. But he was already gone towards their dads study before she could even open her mouth.

Five stood with his back to her and she fiddled with her fingers anxiously from behind the doorway, lingering uncertainly.

"Klaus, you're with me." Diego stated, standing.

He blinked up at him slowly. "Uh... yeah, I'm- I'm good." he stood up and stretched, before heading towards the exit. "I think ill uh... pass. I'm feeling a little... under the weather, so uh-"

The two boys watched him leave with slight suspicious frowns, only noticing Tae when Klaus passed by her silently as she held onto the doorway and watched him with a worried glance.

"Tae, you coming?" Diego asked expectantly.

She blinked at them. "Uh... I don't know. Where are you going?"

"We don't have time to chit chat, you're either coming with us or not." Five shook his head, impatient, sparing her a little glance.

Allison and Diego watched her expectantly.

"Yeah, glad you're back, Five." She murmured sarcastically, looking down at her feet. "And thanks for including me in the family meeting."

She could feel the air in the room drop. They all exchanged a hesitant glance.

Five sighed. "For what its worth, you looked like you needed the sleep. We can explain on the way, okay?"

It was an offering hanging in the air between them. Did they really want her to come with them? Or were they just doing this because they felt guilty for not including her? She felt like a child again, excluded from games, hanging back in the shadows looking in.
