4. The Boss

“Tell me about WHAT!?” The voice boomed.
Barnard and Kate stood there realizing the current situation they are currently in.
“O-oh boss” Barnaby finally spoke up.
“Now tell me about what, you two?” The two looked at each other then at the boss.
“I-it's nothing boss-” Kate said in a more terrified tone.
“Oh really now?” Milenko said. He then looks at Kira and stares “But, you finally brought the human I wanted to see. Took you both long enough and why DID it take you so long to get this human for me exactly, Kate, Banard?”
Kate and Barnard look back at each other and then Milenko who has a stern look on his face while crossing his arms.
“Uh boss.. The search was hard to find a human that you would like. And we just wanted to find the best for you!” Barnard says, completely scared now while trying to think of an excuse.
“..Sorry what? So you're all now telling me this?! AND WHY ME EXACTLY?!” Kira says, utterly confused.
Barnard looks at Kira with a look of shock until he bent down to her whispering,
“Look here Kira. We are both dead meat if you keep reacting like this. So calm your nerves or I’m feeding you to the dogs. Got it?” Barnard says in a stern low voice.
“..Well you're very unnerving for a patchwork dog demon but ok..” Kira huffs, a bit annoyed now. She looks at Milenko and crosses her arms. “So.. You're the strange gray scale jester that wanted me to be here for.. What reason exactly? Some sick game or.. For your own amusement? A guilty pleasure perhaps.”
Kate and Barnard looked at each other then at Kira like she did the most heinous crime possible. Their jaws were dropped and their eyes were wide by how quickly Kira changed her personality and how creepy she seemed now. But on the other hand, Milenko seemed more proud and impressed than scared and nervous. He was grinning now while listening to Kira talk with the others.
“Kira, you're going to get ALL 3 of us killed if you don't stop!” Kate muttered quickly which made it almost unintelligible.
Kira looked Milenko dead in the eyes and tilted her head. Not in a questioning or curious way. More like in a creepy way like “The Shining” or “The Ring”.
“Excuse me?” Milenko asked with a bit of snark in his voice while grinning, he seemed more impressed and proud for some psycho reason. Kira still stared. Seemingly unblinking now.
“Can you tell me who you're trying to fool? I can't seem to find the point you're trying to make, sir. But if you think that you can lie to me, then I think you've made a big mistake” Kira says, grinning now as well while looking at Milenko.
“Oh-Ho!  You're a smart one, aren't you?” Milenko said, staring back at Kira.
“Yes I am. Now. What reason am I here for? Some sick game or.. For your own amusement? A guilty pleasure perhaps. I want the truth and not some stupid excuse your gray scale jester self can come up with randomly,” Kira asks while looking back at Kate and Barnard who still looked stunned by her attitude towards their boss who is one of the powerful demon in hell.
Milenko just grinned while looking at Kira before speaking.
“Well! It's because I wanted someone.. So I could..” Milenko trailed off which made Kira, Kate, and Barnard a bit confused.
“Yeah. Why exactly did you want us to bring you this specific human here? You always just yelled at us to not say anything about it and stay quiet about it.” Kate responds, equally curious on why Milenko, the boss, wanted this specific human aka Kira since there are A LOT more than just her on earth or on the living realm since that's what the demons, angels, ghosts, etc., called earth. Kira and Barnard also nodded as to wanting the answer, both are equally confused on why as well.
“I..uh..” Milenko said, stuttering and trying to think of an excuse while being a bit red from being embarrassed about the whole situation.
“Say it boss. You only told us that you wanted a human because you were lonely but you didn't specify why you wanted Kira, exactly. You also told us that it had to be her and no one else.” Barnard chimed in while having his arms crossed while staring dead at Milenko.
Kate then looked at Barnard confused.
“He never told me that?” Kate said, worried about what the boss may be hiding.
“He didn't? I thought he would have told everyone here so when she got here, none of them would try to attack her?” Barnard explained.
“Excuse me wha-?” Kira says, confused about what they just said. Barnard looks at Kira with the same stern face from before
“Shush Kira. Please. We are trying to figure this out and we don't need you randomly-” Barnard was about to finish before Milenko covered his mouth and grinned at him.
“Watch what you say about my lovely human..friend..Barnard.. Before I make you shut it so I suggest you don't insult her, you useless patchwork dog..” Milenko said, darkly before Barnard put his hands in the air in a surrendering way and nodded as a “I’ll shut it”.
Kate and Barnard looked at each other and nodded in agreement to shut up and not say anything further since Milenko is capable of many..MANY things that shall not be named like Murder or Arson. Even Manipulation of others. They both seemed quite confused on why the boss was being so protective over a human. Yes he can be protective like Spice and Sugar but it seems to be the same case with Kira now.
“I uh..Thank you-?” Kira says, confused but grateful. Milenko nods and grins in a creepy way with his sharp teeth.
“Your welcome, Kira..” Milenko speaks, trying to be his creepy self but its failing miserably and you can see his excitement and happiness,  before a female voice shouts..
