IV | I Look For You In Places
Present Day

Two thousand years of searching, and still no traces of him.

And in every sunrise and sunset without Jin by his side, Taehyung was fading furthermore.

For the first two hundred years of searching for the true love of his life he has taken for granted, Taehyung severed all of his other mating bonds with every mate he had ever claimed, including Hoseok, and abolished his harem --- at the same time having a hand on the fall of the Han dynasty in China when he had gone mad after the emperor deceived him of keeping Jin in his palace.

Three hundred years of searching, Hoseok had chosen to live in seclusion in the farthest corner of the planet as an act of repentance towards his missing brother --- living inside one of the coldest caves with no supply of blood to survive until Jin would come back home safe and sound.

Nine hundred years of searching, one of his trackers said he caught wind of Jin in Rome. Taehyung went, but was in vain, and instead witnessed the pope crowning a surprised Charlemagne as the new emperor of the nation.

Six hundred more years of searching, another tracker caught sight of him in Stratford, East London. The faithful servant said he saw the King Consort attending a wedding of a man whose last name was Shakespeare - of who was now a renowned playwright and poet in history - with two or more vampires he could not name. Another six hundred years of searching, when Taehyung boarded the maiden voyage of RMS Titanic to visit another Vampire King in New York and seek for assistance when Korea fell under the Japanese colonial rule, he himself caught sighting of Jin on board the largest ship the world had ever known. But he never saw him again. It was like he vanished into thin air. Taehyung was still searching for him around the ship. He was still searching for Jin even when the ship was sinking. Around 2:18 AM, when the band played in the darkness as the saltwater lapped upward while singing, "Hold me up in mighty waters, Keep my eyes on things above, Righteousness, divine atonement, Peace and everlas...", the greatest ship in the world had sunk.

The last sighting of his true mate was in one of the concentration camps in Poland around 1945 - when World War II was almost over. Even before his trackers could locate and bring Jin back home to him, he had once again disappeared without leaving any trace. They reported in which the King Consort had volunteered as one of the nurses serving and caring for the injured civilians and soldiers during the war.
