VII | IT'S A DISEASE

With each passing day he had spent with Taehyung, Jin had finally witnessed for himself a few of the 'changes' the vampire king was pertaining to during their previous talk. He was skeptical about this change at first, but Taehyung proved himself otherwise time and time again.

For one, Jin was already used to Taehyung entertaining someone else even in his presence. The king would admire another vampire which was not him during parties, and sometimes showed affection to those he was attracted to, without having to mind what he was feeling. It hurt him every time, of course, but he had learnt to bite his tongue before he could say anything he might regret later.

But now?

Taehyung devoted all of his attention and affection towards Jin and their twins only, it made him feel awkward. He wasn't used to it anymore. He had forgotten what it was like to be loved by Taehyung.

Yesterday, he had had enough of him and eagerly forced Taehyung to do his kingly duties instead of accompanying him and watching him tend to their garden --- planting seedlings and transferring flower plants and saplings on clay pots until sundown.

"Are you sure you don't need my help?" Taehyung pouted when he told him to play his role as the king, hesitant to leave him.

The vampire king pouted.

Ha.

"Yeah, because watching me plant these seedlings while sitting there is of any help," Jin muttered under his breath, although he knew he could still hear him. "I don't need your help right now. We have gardeners to assist me. But if I do need something, you'll be the first to know."

"Who else would know it first except for me?!" Taehyung rebutted, forehead wrinkled in a frown.

Jin stared at him, astounded. He remarked, "Taehyung, your jealousy has reached to a whole new level. You sound ridiculous just now."

Taehyung was defensive. "My love, I'll have you know I am not jealous. I was just questioning who else would-- I am not jealous. Period."

Jin wanted to laugh at his face, but he stopped himself. Instead, he took this as an opportunity. He smirked in his direction, "Really?"

"Really, my love," Taehyung replied almost immediately, nodding his head.

"Then for sure you will have no issue allowing me to leave the castle tomorrow so I can go shopping-" Taehyung was about to protest but Jin glowered back at him -- "without you."

"But-"

"I'll take Jimin with me if it makes you comfortable."

"But-"

"Our twins and I are more than happy to leave-"

"Take Irene and Yeji as well," Taehyung grumbled in surrender. "That way, I will be at peace while you are temporarily not by my side, my love."

Jin grinned wide, a little victorious at another win. He remembered the times Taehyung would locked him up inside the castle, never allowing him to go outside without him and his entourage even if he begged and had a sentry.

He couldn't help but stole a kiss from Taehyung as he found him adorable, pouting and looking gloomy with his arms across his chest.

He was like a child throwing tantrums.

And Jin was once again flabbergasted by how similar their twins looked the same like their father --- their legendary pouts.

The kiss shocked Taehyung as he expected it the least from him, but it instantly brightened his face, smiling ear to ear. "Do it again."
