An alarm beeped in the cockpit, Han turned to hear where it was coming from. Han realized it was coming from the cockpit. Chewie rises from the small bed, and moans something at Han. But Han motions him to rest.
"No, you rest." He said turning from Rey and Finn. Amilyn followed closely after her uncle. "You want my help you're getting it. We're going to see an old friend. She'll get your droid home. This is our stop."
"Am I thinking what I think is going on?" Amilyn asked Han
"I'm pretty sure you do." Han responded to Amilyn. He sat down in the pilots chair and pulled down the lever making them come out of hyperspace. Amilyn stands as Rey, Finn, and BB-8 enter the room. Rey sits in the co-pilots chair watching as they entered by a beautiful green planet. Rey looked in amazement at how much green there could be in the world.
"....I didn't know there was this much green in the world." Rey stuttered out. Amilyn smiled seeing Rey's look of amazement of how beautiful the world could be. Even though she hadn't seen green for a good full day now. How relaxing it felt to see vibrant colors that somehow made you feel comfortable. But in Hans eyes it was a vulnerability that hit him when Rey said that.
Han landed the ship outside the outskirts of town. "So where are we?" Finn asked Amilyn.
"Takodana." Amilyn responded walking out of the cockpit. Han had already left to get supplies from a small storage closet on the ship. "Maybe you should be helping out, Han."
"Alright." Finn said reluctantly. She smiled at him as he left to help her uncle. She watched as Rey walked outside to take a look at all the sights outside she'd never seen before. Chewie roared this to her:
"Rey is really nice. I hope she doesn't run away. I really like that kid." The comment on Rey made Amilyn smile. They were Rey's family now and even if she didn't know it. Amilyn cared about everybody on this ship.....okay, Finn earned a little bit of her trust. But she hadn't trusted many people in a long time...and it felt....good.
"We are her family to her now. Wether she does or doesn't know that now." Amilyn told Chewie who roared back to her. Family.....now that felt good to say.
(Hans POV)
Han rummaged through the guns on a top shelf of the storage closet. Blasters, blaster rifles, heavy blaster pistols, and sporting blasters. The choices were all good, but he grabbed his favorite. A DL-44 blaster pistol would do him just fine.
During his early smuggling days, he'd grabbed this blaster from his friend Qi'Ra. They were running from yet another clients men who were set to kill them. Those good old days of lying, stealing, and knowing your way around was always good.... Crap! Finn somehow had to come and interrupt his moments of recollection of memories that were long gone.
Finn arrived behind him concerned probably about another million things. Han held back his frustration of this kid who kept asking questions nobody wanted to know the answer to. "Hey, Solo.....I'm not sure what we're walking into here..."
"Did you just call me Solo?" Han asked Finn. Nobody calls him just Solo. No that just sounded wrong and quite not right to hear out of some kids mouth. Who calls someone by their last name when they know the persons first name?
"Sorry, Han...Mr. Solo. You should know I'm a big deal to the resistance. Which puts a really big target on my back. Are there any conspirators? First order sympathizers?"
Okay, now this kid sounds like he's trying to build bigger lies on top of others. It was quite obvious by the bazillion questions he asked. Bazillion may not be a real word, but it fit what Finn was sputtering out every second. Rey and hopefully Amilyn already knew he was lying about something.
"Listen BIG Deal. You've got another problem. Women always figure out the truth." Han told Finn to shut his mouth as he handed him a blaster pistol. "Always!" Han walked away after saying the last of words to baffle Finn how he knew only to find Rey looking out onto the town and water from where they had landed. Maybe would be a good time to ask her his question.
(Rey's POV)
Green. Luscious textures that filled one leaf and the grass patches everywhere. Blue. Blue bright skies that were much more visible and less dim than in deserts, and white clouds streaked the sky like ships did when they flew out of Jakku. Colors that were so bright, that escaping Jakku came to seeing them for the first time.
Jakku. She had to get back soon. She didn't want to miss her unknown parents appear out of nowhere and come and take her back, apologizing for leaving her. To take her back into their world. Her heart knew it could never happen, but she had left that doubt behind her years ago. They would come back against all odds.....somehow.
Han came up and gave her a blaster pistol. Rey gradually took it knowing that dangers were more inevitable every time. They thought they were out of harms way, danger always occurred to present it's next event filled with chaos.
"You might need this." Han told Rey who knew entirely that chaos was unavoidable.
"I think I handle myself." Rey assured Han.
"I know you do. That's why I'm giving it to you. Take it." Rey took the pistol from Han. She felt the grip around the bottom of the gun. It was an interesting mechanism to how a gun worked. After seeing people pulling in the trigger to shot, it just seems only logical it be easy for her to aim and hit people.
"You know how to use one of these?" Han asked her.
"Yeah, you just pull the trigger."
"It's a little bit more than that. You've got a name kid?"
"It's Rey."
"Rey." He paused before asking his question, "Rey. I've been thinking bringing on some more crew, Rey. Someone you like to help out. To keep up with me and Chewie if they know they can, and appreciates the Falcon."
"Are you offering me a job?" She asked him.
"I wouldn't be nice to you. It doesn't pay much." Rey considered this. A job with Amilyn's uncle the smuggler would be so fun and she'd love to hangout Amilyn. But her parents....they hadn't come yet. They could wait....couldn't they.
"Well?"
"I'll think about it. It's nice though to escape a junkyard." Rey responded to Han. It was the first time she had called her home a junkyard. But truly it was a really bad place to live for most of your life.
"It's too bad if you say no, because I think Chewie is starting to like you."
(Finns POV)
What did he mean by that women always find out the truth? Well....Amilyn already knew he was lying because she was with the resistance. Would that mean Rey would figure out soon?
Guilt filled him, every inch of his body felt like a heavy stone he was carrying that he couldn't hold much longer. He just wanted to run away from the First Order forever. He'd always been a product used by the First Order. He was raised there as a child to kill without mercy. He wasn't programmed, but probably stolen from his parents who he could not remember at all.
A stormtrooper. Being that was his only destiny it seemed like forever that was planned ahead of by years by them. But that day at the village when they captured Poe.....he had to watch his friend die. That's when he realized he couldn't take it. He couldn't kill innocent people, or watch others die without feeling guilt behind merciless eyes stormtroopers were supposed to have.
Maybe he'd find his purpose one day. He thought purpose was to help Poe escape...that failed and it caused Amilyn to trust him learning of her friends death. He'd lost a friend too when they attacked the town. Watching him die....it just didn't feel right...it felt wrong to fight against people. A coward...that's what he was he thought to himself.
The First Order knew he was nothing put garbage that they could throw out after one little mistake. But these people.....Han, Chewie, Rey, BB-8, and.....maybe Amilyn since she was seemingly getting used to him. They felt like family.
Family. A word nobody knew it's true meaning of how it felt. People usually grew up with people around them while some don't like Rey and him didn't. Amilyn got to know her father, but it seemed she never knew who her mother was. Family. They were his family now...and if he ran now....that be the most cowardly thing he'd ever do.
