"... Huh...?" You blinked.

"... Does anyone have a real answer?" Byakuya ignored the team manager.

Nagito thought for a moment before answering. "Perhaps, could it be... A bond?"

"Bond...?" Hajime repeated.

"This is what I believe... As long as the Ultimates work together, there's nothing we can't accomplish... You'll all be able to create a hope that can overcome any despair. That's why... If we want to escape this island, we need to promise each other that we'll work together!" Nagito explained from his heart.

"Wow, he said that with a straight face! How is he not embarrassed?" Hiyoko snickered.

You sighed. "How naive. Do you really think they can 'overcome' despair? Tsk, don't make me laugh." You scoffed. Nagito looked in your direction before smiling.

"It seems to me that you're projecting onto us. Why? I mean, you are an Ultimate, are you not?" He tilted his head.

"... Nonsense." You glared. 'How can weak people even overthrow their despair when even I couldn't...'

"Though I just figured that." Nagito laughed. "It was kinda lame, huh?" You didn't answer.

"Wow, is dead-eyes speechless? That's pathetic." Hiyoko laughed. You looked over at her and stared.

"Speak up. What did you say?" You raised an eyebrow, your expression remaining blank.

Hiyoko froze and huffed before looking away and running to Mahiru. Peko sighed before speaking. "However, he does have a point. That must be why Monokuma is enforcing a rule that will cause us to be suspicious of each other."

Byakuya nodded. "I see... That was a pretty good answer. Since it's impossible to face our enemy as individuals under these circumstances, we must fight as a group... However, what we need to achieve that solidarity is not something as easygoing and optimistic as a... 'bond'." The progeny explained.

"Huh, then... What?" Nagito asked.

"What we need right now is a disciplined leadership, provided by an unmistakable leader!" Byakuya announced.

Nekomaru agreed. "I see... Even sports teams need captains, after all..."

"Rejoice. [M/N] shall hold that title while I shall be his assistant. After all, you are the Ultimate Leader. Am I right?" He turned to you. You said nothing, feeling nostalgia.

"... Huh?" Hajime gasped in confusion.

"Now then, I'll wrap up this introduction, and let's move on to the main question."

"Hey, wait a second!" Mahiru interrupted.

Byakuya sighed. "What is it?"

"Wh-What did you just say...? I don't care how you excuse it, you're being too forceful! Deciding who gets to be a leader all on your own... And why does it have to be the guy who's being rude to a girl, anyway!?" Mahiru yelled.

"Who is more fit to lead other than him? He is the Ultimate Leader, just like I said. He knows what to do in crisis."

"S-Seriously, what are you saying!? I'm telling you that attitude of his is foul!" Mahiru explained.

"... Mahiru, please wait." Nagito grasped out. "It's true that [M/N] might've been a bit mean, but given the comments that Hiyoko had said to him... I believe he was in the right to defend himself, under circumstances like that, being able to stand up for yourself..."

"That may be true, but... If we just need someone who can lead people but still be kind and generous, then even Sonia can..." The photographer muttered.

Sonia denied. "No, perish the thought. I am nearly a figurehead."

Nagito smiled. "Well... [M/N] must have the qualities of a leader if the people he led still respect and admire him under the circumstances they were in."

The redhead still seemed hesitant before finally deciding her answer. "If everyone's okay with it... I'm okay with it, too..." After she said that, a whine was heard, and nothing else.

"Then, I guess we've made our decision... Don't worry, as long as [M/N] and I as your leader and Vice, we won't let anyone become a victim. Right, [M/N]?" He looked over to you. You stared while complementing your options, finally agreeing with a nod of your head.

Byakuya nodded back before continuing. "We will both guide you all! That much, I promise."

Ibuki started squealing. "So~ reliable!"

You said nothing, observing the blonde man. 'What are you planning, Byakuya...'

"Now then, let's move on to the topic at hand, for real this time... I have something to show you all."

"... Something to show us?" Hajime repeated.

"It's at Jabberwock Park at the central island... Come, follow me!" Byakuya then fled while dragging you with him, his footsteps echoing.

"J-Just as I thought... He might just be way different than [M/N]..." Hajime sighed.

"Jeez... We may have made a mistake in choosing him as the Vice..." Mahiru groaned. Soon some people started following the two to the park.
