【 a misunderstanding 】
naeun walked through the halls of school, feeling a nervous tension in her heart. she knew that she would have another encounter with jaemin today, as they had agreed to meet in the library. naeun hoped that this time, their meeting would be more romantic and less awkward.
as she neared the library, she spotted jaemin waiting for her outside, and her cheeks immediately went red with embarrassment as she saw him standing there.
she quickly gathered her courage, and walked up to jaemin, smiling nervously. "hi, jaemin," she said, her voice sounding slightly shaky.
naeun looked at jaemin, hoping to get some kind of reaction from him. but jaemin just continued to look at her, with his usual cold and stoic expression. naeun's heart sank slightly, as she wondered if he was still upset about the incident with minho.
after a few seconds of awkward silence, naeun cleared her throat and decided to break the ice by asking jaemin a question.
"um, so, why did you want to meet me here today?" she asked, trying to hide her nervousness.
naeun took a deep breath, as she tried to stay calm in the face of jaemin's blunt and detached attitude. she felt overwhelmed by her emotions, especially as jaemin seemed completely oblivious to the tension and awkwardness in the air.
she tried to focus on the task at hand, as she turned to jaemin and said, "right, we still need to work on our project. so, do you have the sources and books you told me about yesterday?"
jaemin nodded, and then said, "yep, i brought them with me."
naeun and jaemin walked through the halls of school together, as they made their way to the library. as they walked, naeun heard a whisper from a passing student, who said that she and jaemin looked good together.
naeun instantly felt her cheeks flush with embarrassment, as she felt a surge of heat surge through her body. she tried to hide her reaction and focus on the way ahead, but she couldn't help but feel slightly giddy, as her heart pounded in her chest.
naeun and jaemin arrived at the library, where they found a table and sat down to start working on their project. naeun took out her notebook and pen, while jaemin opened his bag and brought out a few books and pages of paper.
as they started working, naeun's mind couldn't help but keep drifting back to the moment when she had heard those whisperings from the passing student. she wondered what it would be like to actually be with jaemin, and the thought made her heart race even faster.
naeun sat across from jaemin, as they both started working on their project. the two of them were sitting quite close together, as there was only one table available. naeun found herself constantly sneaking glances at jaemin as they worked, trying to get a better look at his expression and face.
jaemin was focused on the task at hand, as he made notes and typed up information from the sources he had gathered. he seemed completely unaware of naeun's glances, as he continued to give off the same detached and stoic aura that he had from the moment they met.
naeun and jaemin both continued to work on their project, quietly and efficiently. after a few moments, naeun decided to break the silence, and ask jaemin a question to make a bit of small talk.
"uhm, so, how was your weekend?" she asked, her tone sounding slightly nervous.
jaemin looked up from his work, and gave naeun a flat and neutral look. after a few seconds, he simply shrugged his shoulders, and said, "nothing much. just spent the weekend doing some reading and studying."
