Welcome To Bright Sun

My preparation for the Ball began right then and there. The Ball was located in Bright Sun. The heart and capital of The Golden Arches.

It would take 11 hours to arrive at the Ball so we had to move swiftly.
Isabella, my right hand maid, ordered the newly employed servants around, ensuring that I was stress free and well taken cared of.

She also sent for the kingdom's best tailor and gave him 7 hours to complete my lengthy gown. The terror and confliction in his eyes were priceless. He knew he could never turn down a Royal's request. No matter how absurd it may be, unless he wanted his head detached from his body.

Approximately 10 hours later, in the dead of night, I arrived in the Golden Arches with Isabella as my plus one. I couldn't have just left her behind after all she had done for me. This was my treat for her.

She would get to mingle with royals, eat the finest cuisine prepared by the most qualified chefs in the world and receive gifts of all riches.

Besides, it wasn't uncommon for royals to bring their most trusted servants with them. After all, who would carry their purses? Who follow them around the rooms like dogs on invisible leashes? How would the other royals know that they are well off without flaunting their servant? Such shameful logic. They were all disgraceful. I would never treat Isabella in such a way.

We have come far together. She has become a real friend to me, maybe even a best friend. I turned to face her. She was staring through the carriage's window. Mesmerized. Disbelief engraved in her youthful eyes.

Her mouth opened agape as we got closer to The Amethyst Castle.
The castle was not nearly as large as The Thorne Castle but the lights on the castle were what caught my eye.

The castle looked like a candle in the dark, a star in the night, a beam of light in the void. It was truly mesmerizing. The Golden Arches is also known as "The City Of The Sun". Even at night, The Golden Arches is as bright as day. The brightest area in The Golden Arches is "Bright Sun".

Bright Sun is so bright in fact, that it can be seen from other Kingdoms as well. For instance, in Algoria, the light from Bright Sun appears as golden arches in the midnight sky, hence the name.

On that note, we finally arrived in front of The Amethyst Castle. I stepped out of the carriage gracefully, my gown sheltering my feet. The light from the castle reflected off my gown's silver pearls, enhancing the violet shade. I proudly strutted up the golden steps of the castle, with Isabella following close behind, her face still cemented in shock.
As we marched up the steps, the doors slowly began to open on their own, as if they were expecting us.

I stepped into the room and released an audible gasp. It was beautiful.
The Ball room was tiled with the most extravagant golden tiles. There were silver thrones for the guests and a twelve foot golden throne for the soon to be King. The throne looked as if it was made for an enormous mythical creature. My mind was unable to fathom that my fingers and mind created the beauty which stood before me. This was all here; because of me.

The walls were laced with bronze wallpaper with paintings showcasing all the previous successors of the crown. The guests were all chattering away, drinking the complementary wine and liquor whilst boasting about their Kingdom's riches. None came close to Algoria's.

Suddenly, the room became silent as the other royals began to notice my presence. One by one, they all came to me and bowed or curtsied, then shook Isabella's hand. It was customary for royals to bow to other royals that were superior to them in wealth, status or favourability by the people of the world.
