It did not take long for the balance of The Six to arrive at the combined Sheriff's office and jail.
"I can't remember the last time we had three people in the Cell, Bob. Been a wild time lately." Silas had remarked to his boss as they were getting ready to finish up for the evening. Evidence logged. Blankets and pillows were distributed to the prisoners.
"With even more that need to be in there. God. Damn. Guild." The sheriff replied, not happy with that idea.
"Guild never had business here before. Now we are gonna need a bigger jail." Silas had replied.
At 9:30 AM the following morning, the remaining three members of The Six walked up to the office in broad daylight. Two men and a woman. The triple threat were armed to the teeth. One was openly and obviously carrying a stick of dynamite. The threat there for all to see. Dynamite in and of itself was not uncommon in and around the town. Miners use it all the time. The way the stick of explosive was brandished made the intent for this particular red cylinder clear. This was not for iron or any other ore. Nor for clearing roads, or building septic systems. It was intended to be used against a building and the people inside.
"Sheriff!" The woman called out loudly. "You need to be letting our people go now. Unless you want to be dying today. Not worth it. We aren't after you. Got no argument with the local law. Just looking for the Witch. That's all them other Witches hired us to do. This is Witch on Witch shit. You know what that's like. We're just here because the local Witch has the other Witches all locked out somehow. Ward wall or some kind of magic bullshit. I don't know, and I don't care. What I'm saying here is you don't need to be in the middle of it."
Even as the woman talked, she pointed at the two men. She made a commanding set of sharp gestures, leaving no doubt about who was in charge. The men spread out wider, creating a sort of arc in front of the office. As much of an arc as three people can create.
The door to the Sheriff's office opened. Silena stepped out.
"Hi, chickie. Been a minute. Here I thought you all were after me." Silena thumbed over her shoulder at the now-closed door. "Normie, all comfy in the cell in there, said there was a reward out for me. Boy said he was going to take me in by himself so he could collect. Did not want to share the reward. Guild bounty so I'm guessing good money. As if he could, right? You take a guy to bed a few times because you got no better options at the moment, and he just gets all weird about it. Spread your legs and now he thinks he's better than you. Yet he's in there with ice packs, and I'm out here. This is a nice town, by the way. Has ice and everything. Ice made with machines, I mean. Not magic"
"Silena." The woman did not sound pleased.
"Natasha." Silena replied and mimicked Natasha's tone of voice. The two women's lack of mutual affection obvious to all who could hear the interchange.
"So." Natasha managed a load of verbal acid in that one syllable. "I understand now. You are why they have Jilly, Norman, and Jimmy. You helped. You fucking traitorous bitch."
All of the acidic accusation earned a wan smile from Silena. "I can see how you might think that Nashie, but you'd be wrong. Mostly. Before those three went down? I went down. Hard. Not sex went down. Don't be dirty."
Natasha gave Silena a pained expression.
"I mean I got my pretty butt nailed to a post. Not sex nailed to a post, you filthy-minded woman... I know your kinks ..."
The pained expression increased.
Inside the office, Stephanie, listening in, rubbed her forehead and whispered to Le "I did not know Silena did comedy."
