The city jail was one block away from the bar. The proximity was why Rufus was able to get the Sheriff so quickly.

Silena floated along the boardwalks between Stephanie and Le, turned the corner at the block, went up, crossed the brick road, and through the door that the Sheriff was holding open.

I have no idea how we are doing this." Stephanie confessed to Vivian, who was walking along beside her.

"Ava said flying takes advanced training to keep from crushing yourself. But this? This is easy. Sort of. Not sure how we are doing it, but it's not hard either. Easier than carrying her would be."

"So weird." Stephanie agreed.

"I think I got a feel for it when we were putting in the windows. Holding them upright while we set them. I think." Le said.

"Glass would break easy. Right?" Vivan asked

"Not the glass we used in our windows. Super thick. There are stores I have been in that have glass steps. Once glass is thick enough, it's pretty strong." Stephanie said.

"I have never seen glass like that." Vivian said.

"There are all kinds of ways to make glass. There are armored cars that have bulletproof glass in them. I have no idea how that is made." Le said.

"However that is, we are not crushing this woman because she is wearing something we can't easily crush." Stephanie reached out and tapped the woman's stomach."Something very hard under there."

"Over there. On that table." The Sheriff directed Stephanie and Le.

Stephanie and Le did as instructed and laid the floating and unconscious Silena out on a tabletop. "Vivian? Tell you what. If you and Stephanie would do the honors, here is the key to that jail cell over there. There are inmate garments over there in that closet. Lightweight thin cotton. Should not even be strong enough to hang oneself with. Pile her stuff over there by my desk, and I'll sort it. Le? We can go into the next room till they have her dressed again. Unless you think we need to stay out here with a gun on her or something." The Sheriff patted the grip of his revolver.

"I think we'll be ok." Stephanie said.

Rhodes put the two knives and the sword he was carrying over on his desk. "If she's Guild, she's going to be fast and sneaky. Keep her away from here. Use your magic if need be." He and Le exited the room to an office.

The two women got to work stripping the woman's unresisting form. They piled the unconscious woman's clothing on the designated table. Boots, pants, gloves, duster jacket, knit top, night watch cap. As clothing was taken off they uncovered the under-armor that had allowed Stephanie and Le to float her without damage. Removing the armor took far longer to take apart, as neither one had seen anything like it.

"It's very weird." Stephanie said holding up the chest plate to look at it front and back

"What do you mean?" Vivian asked.

"It feels... weird. Can't explain it. A feeling. Tell you what though, this stuff fits her body like a glove. Custom made. Had to be." Stephanie tapped the concavities of the chest plate from the back. "Gods. This is worse than an under-wire bra. How did she breathe in this thing?"

"A what?" Vivian asked

"A ... never mind. A torture device back home they sold to women that never fit right and always digs holes in your boobs."

"Why in the world would anyone wear such a thing?" Vivian asked

"Don't ask me. I tried one once. Never did again. Sports bras are where it is at for me."
