Playmates? That sounds like Makkura was raised in some nursery but this question of mine did receive a negative answer.

Nay, we were not raised in a 'nursery'.
That's what Makkura said, precisely speaking. "There art twelve elements in total. I am not going to disclose too much as thou aren't ready yet."

"I am not ready yet? Could you please elaborate?"

"Nay, I shan't elaborate this at the moment. Thou aren't ready for it. Thou shalt master thy current powers."

"Quick question, are there other element users like me?"

"Aye, certainly. All the elements have been taken now. Not everyone has mastered it yet."

"Am I familiar with any one of them?"

"Mayhap, mayhap not. I am not answering that question now. Why dost thou want to know?"

"Why not?"

"Tsk. Anyways, I possess the element of ice. Burnsmith possesses the element of fire. In short, thou have two elements. Thou can use two elements. Takes plenty of time to prepare though. To master them, it ain't simple."

"Seems like it."

"Aye, indeed." It said as it backed off. It vanished all of a sudden and was nowhere to be seen. "My time is over now. Thou shalt go to bed and get ready for the next morning." Came a deep deep animal-ish voice from within me.

I really should doze off. My body, involuntarily fell on the soft bed and I, in no time, got into a deep slumber.

The next morning, my mom had to climb upstairs, kick open the door as I was not waking up on time. I always woke up on time in the mornings. What was wrong this time? I set the alarm, I still remember.

"Kei dear, are you really sure that you are fine? Yesterday too you weren't feeling alright, now today morning you were still not downstairs yet for breakfast so I had to come upstairs to check on and wake you up."

"Uh..." I paused after my mom uttered those words and worries. "you don't have to worry about it...I just overslept this time, I guess?"

"But, you have always been on time..." She said as she kept both her hands on her hips, "you have only ever done that whenever you were sick and bed-ridden for most of the time."

"Oh, uh...but really though, trust me, I am totally fine."

"Nope, I don't think so."

"B-But..." I was at a loss for words.
"We should probably go see the doctor today. You should...perhaps take the day off, stay home and take some leisurely rest. Health comes before your studies."

"Well...I guess so, alright then..." I was honestly at a loss for words, I don't think I am meaning any of that.

"Hm? You should probably go get ready now, because I have some to attend to and I won't be available for the rest of the day. It's better if we seek help in the morning."

"Yeah...you're right." And with that, my mom took her leave from my room and I got up from bed. I headed to the bathroom to look at myself in the mirror like the usual. No irregular reflections, everything seemed to be fine...at least for now.

After getting ready, I headed downstairs for breakfast. It was potato omelet. Another one which I'm not a huge fan of. Feel like eating schnitzel for all three meals a day.

"So, Kei, how are you feeling now?"

"Um, it's really all fine now."

"You sure dear?"

"Yeah, I know my body better than anyone else."

"Hm, if you say so. But we still need to go see a doctor. You don't really seem fine."

"Oh well, I don't mind then...if it's just going to be a regular checkup."

"Anyways, here, eat up. Hope you could finish your breakfast this time without leaving a single leftover."
"Hope so too." I said as I started easing off my hunger for the morning. I finished off my meal and heard a knock on the main door.

"Oh? Who might that be now?" My mom said as she went ahead towards to door and took a peek through the peephole. Then, she turned towards me and interrogated me with a slight side-eye. "Hey, Kei, do you recognize this guy standing right outside here? He seems young, perhaps a schoolmate?" I got up from the chair and peeked through the peephole myself only to find a handsome smile displayed on the face of a familiar youngster. Denis. Denis Pub.

"Um, yes. His name is Denis. Full name, Denis Pub. A recent acquaintance, you could say?"

"Ohh, I see." My mom said as she opened the door and made way for him to arrive inside. I took a seat on the couch in front of the TV. He took a seat right next to me but just we both were sitting at the very ends on either sides of the couch. The right occupied by me. The left occupied by him. "I'll get some drinks and snacks for our guest here. In the meantime, keep him engaged in some interesting conversation, Kei."

"S-S-Sure." I said as I took a glance at his casual figure sitting on the other corner of the couch. "You have taken the day off as well?"

"Yes, m'lady."

"........"

"Just kidding. Yes, I have. But, I came back home from school by faking a sickness that I came down with. Wasn't that hard to fool them, haha. I faked and came back home just to come visit you since your presence at school was absent."

"Oh, uh. Why would you take the day off for me?!"
"I wanted to convey something right today at school but since you weren't there, I felt like saying it right here now directly at your house."

"Can't you say it tomorrow?!"

"No can do. Must be today and today only. It seems to be 10:00am sharp right now. We better not discuss about the matter here though."

"Then where do you prefer to?"

"Your room, I guess?"

"........" I am once again in a loss for words. Having narrated this, my mom arrived with two glasses of juice and a plate filled with different varieties of cookies. With that, my mom left the two of us with some alone time. What must be going on in her mind right now? That we both are not exactly acquaintances and either of us or both of us are secretly in love with each other?! Nonsense. There is definitely no chemistry between us, at all!

"What's up with the pause? You're not fine with it?"

"Um. Sure, I guess? We could discuss the matter upstairs in my room."

"Well then, let's head upstairs, shall we?"

"Uh yeah, sure sure." And with that we both headed upstairs to my room.

"Woah, your room seems to be quite a mess."

"Goddamn, I totally forgot to clean the table and shelves!" How could I possibly be this careless today, I also forgot to arrange up the bed after waking up.

"No worries. The discussion isn't too big." He said as he walked up towards me with a consistent pace. "All I actually wanted to tell you is that," there was a small pause, he then pulled out two medium sized blades and held them both, one in each hand in a cross position right in front of me. "these blades here are going to be doing the real job. They have the ability to remove the accessories from the users without any harm as they are glued to the users' hands, necks or heads."

"Where did you even get these blades from? They look really dangerous honestly."

"Cannot disclose. You are meant to be silent and not spread a word about this to anyone. Understood?"

"Y-Yeah, sure. I understood. I wouldn't tell a soul about this."

"Good. I trust you from your reaction."

"........" I didn't feel like saying anything there.

"The truth is, I do not actually wish to slaughter someone just for a bunch of accessories which hold supernatural strength." He said as he put the blades away. I wonder where he actually pulled them out from, they don't seem to be fitting inside of his pockets.

"Oh well, murdering someone isn't really a good thing anyways."

"I'd love to not cause any harm to the person on the act of retrieving the accessories. I instead simply want to collect them all from the users with no harm and give them all to that person."
