Little girl,
Skin like porcelain
Eyes that gleam with wishes,
Wishes unfulfilled
Your tears that glint and glisten,
For all the misfortune that instilled.
In loving memory of your girlhood
I write you a poem
For I cannot bring back what was lost with time
Even if it was an oath, so solemn.

Little girl,
My fragile doll
I've seen the ways you cope
When things don't seem to go your way,
When you have lost all hope
You scream into your pillows,
You cry your heart out
You wish for a different destiny
To disappear into the crowd.
But little girl, I wish to see how the future leads you
And wipes away this raincloud.

Little girl,
I will protect you
Wherever your spirit roams
I'll heal you with the gift of youth,
And give you a loving home
For I too, used to be just like you,
Fifteen and naive
I believed, I loved, I was a fool
I smiled through gritted teeth.
In loving memory of my girlhood, I shed my tears again
I wasted all my years of youth, alone in the garden, I stand.
