Fiasco

Everything had been a constant string of change. That was one thing Kae hated, something she couldn't stop. Couldn't hit. Change was inevitable and she was stuck in its current.

She glanced over to Mara perched close next to her. That was a thing she loved. How change came to try and unravel her but Mara was always there at her side.

The blond kid-Sunny-that had blown a hole into the wall of their holding cell swept into the room. It did little to ease the tension of its inhabitants. There was a boy with curling horns and skin the color of blood stationed at the far wall observing. The other was someone she had seen on the news plenty of times. A girl with white and red parted hair, a sly grin plastered upon her face, and a missing arm. The infamous ward of Harley Quin.

"I'm glad we are all able to be here," Sunny said taking a moment to look at them all, "can I get you any refreshments?"

"Start talking," Kae demanded with folded arms. The boy had stashed her and Mara in this underground building and left them there for days. Who was to say this wasn't just a new cell?

"Someone feeling inpatient?" The girl in the corner asked. If she remembered right her alias was Lilith. Maybe the girl recognized her too from when Kid Flash dismantled her "slip of patience" and got her locked up in juvie. It wasn't her finest moment, but she had wanted to break something. Someone. The other kids at the foster home that had cornered her. That had done those things. She was gonna get that Kid Flash if it's the last thing she did.

Mara placed a hand on her knee before she could dish out a caustic remark and leaned forward. "I think we would just like to be out of the dark. Who exactly are you?"

Sunny grinned so wide his teeth shone beneath. Pearly white. "You all can call me Sunny. I'm sure you've all heard of my father, Lex Luthor."
Mara and Kae were taken aback, although the other two seemed unfazed. Well, the monster kid didn't seem to care.

"I didn't think Luthor had a kid," Kae spoke up, "who are you really?"

"I can assure you we have relation. My father didn't want to . . . involve me in the trouble of public opinion. But I have been working the backside of things, making connections."

Kae looked at Mara in a way to say 'can you believe this guy?' But she gave him her full attention buying it.

She bit the edge of her thumb in a nervous tic, "Don't get me wrong, I'm grateful to be out of where you found us. But what exactly are we doing here?"

"I'm glad you asked my dear." No way he just called her that. "You all are here because there's something special about you. Something that I believe can come together and fight for a common goal."

"Whoah whoah whoah, you didn't say anything about doing the whole teamwork fighting thing," Kae interrupted, "isn't that stuff for the people with the capes?"

"Don't get too worked up sweet cheeks," the girl in the corner chirped.

"What's that supposed to mean?" Kae growled.

"It means you're prettier complacent."

Kae stood up and everyone in the room tensed. She narrowed her eyes sizing Lilith up.

"What common goal?" Maya cut in stopping the arguing. Her voice was careful, as if to try and reel her back in. Kae sat back down and crossed her arms.

Lilith

There was no way this inexperienced creature beneath her was trying to challenge her right now. I mean yeah, she had started it, but she also intended to finish it. Lux—Sunny, for now, was not her favorite person by any means. But she wasn't stupid. Someone taking leadership needed respect or everything falls apart. Plus she was the only one aloud to snap at him.

Sunny strode between them and shot her a look to cut it out. She scrunched up her nose. That's so not on me.

"You've all seen the news. Have been around. You all know the pull that these self made celebrity "heroes" have on the public," Sunny spoke, "one might ask how they get away with having that much unchecked power. Not only in a physical sense, although I feel like more people should be worried about a single individual being able to take out an army but that's just me. I mean in a social sense."

"You're saying that people like Batman and Superman abuse their power?" The odd eyed girl girl sitting next to the meathead asked.

Lucy liked her, she was observant. Had already figured this whole thing out but was playing it on her own terms like she hadn't. Smart. But also manipulative.

"Precisely," Sunny spoke, "how many people have power over whole nations and networks of meta humans? Unchecked power like that leads to disaster. Disaster in which the strongest fist gets to rule the day and believe me we will be the first to be turned on."

Lucy didn't particularly know if that was true but if there was one thing Sunny was good at it was persuasion.

"And on top of all of this they create a covert team of their underlings to do their dirty work. This is completely under the radar by the way. Robin, Aqualad, Kid Flash, Miss Martian, Superboy, and Artemis are not under legal parameters of the national defense. Or at least they shouldn't be. These 'superheros' are the real ones running this nation under the cover of missions and 'greater good'. The only greater good is following their ideals and opinions on such. What would happen if Superman decided that anyone crossing boarders was considered unlawful. Millions of people decimated. Nations divided. All because the person with power said so."

The rest of them stared in shock. Even Lucy admitted he had a good argument. The girl with wavy purple hair and pale skin—Mara—was following intensely. The girl next to her looked lost.

"This is why we have this task force. To stop world domination by these power houses. To bring a more diverse set of ideals into the light. And to start, we're going after their wards."

Lux's notes
- Keep Kae and Lucy separated, god
- Amir is unreadable, where does he stand?
