Lucy Quinzel AKA LilithThe Underground
7:45 pm 1/9/23Devil Boy
If there was anything you could credit Sunny for it was that he was efficient.
Amir tracked his gaze across the arena floor watching Lilith flip out of the way of a strike by the purple haired one. Maya maybe, she didn't stand out as someone he cared much to interact with.
Sunny had already had them up and sparring same day to get a feel for one another's abilities. "The Underground" he called this place. It really was an impressive sight. A multilevel underground facility holding housing, living spaces, and plenty of training tools to play with. He said it was sponsored by his father to see a better future. Some man named Lex Luthor. The others seemed to care magnitudes who that was but he did not. All these humans were trifles in the realm of chaos he had come from.
He gave a short whistle and saw the shadow of Selkie emerge from the dimly lit hall. His familiar flapped over the two fighting in the center and came to rest on his outstretched forearm.
"Hey watch the raven!" Lilith yelled taking her eyes off the fight. It was clear who the winner was anyways, purple girl didn't stand a chance. Why was she here?He tsked looking at Selkie, she seemed to be the only one not impressed by the place. No big skies to soar in, he would have to take her about in the fresh air.
Lilith feigned a fall and swung her legs out to buckle the back of Mara's knees. Her little partner in crime sat glowering in the corner clearly not enjoying the sight. Amir went over what he knew. That one—Kae—super strength, origin unknown. The rest pending. Lilith, no known superpowers but incredible acrobatics and combat skills. Impressive, especially with only one arm. Sunny, suspected normie, no meta abilities. Although who knew nowadays. Mara, a dud, had to be. Otherwise she would have annihilated Lilith. Simple as that. He didn't need to waste time getting his hands dirty.
"I'm going for a walk," Amir announced scratching under Selkie's beak.
The others watched him to as he thought about how funny it would be for Klarion to see him now. Of course unlike his old rival he was half human, a major damper in his biological capabilities, but he used what he had. And at least he didn't need a familiar to stay present in this odd little earth. But the strength he drew from it were worth it in a plethora of ways.
Mirage
"Are ya' gonna stop him?" Lilith asked when he was out of earshot. If he even was, who knew what the range was with a half Croatoan. Mara narrowed her eyes, she needed something from him.
She had snuck around while trapped here and found everyone's files. That's how she learned that not even Sunny really knew the full extent of what she could do. And hopefully that little secret would stay between her and Kae as long as possible to gain the upper hand.
Sunny paused a moment then waved it off, "let him be. We have more important work to do here."
He's afraid of seeming weak if Amir dismisses him, she thought. Mara tried to catch Kae's eye as she walked up to her. Kae offered a hand and pulled her up off the floor.
"You ok?" She murmured.
Mara nodded letting her touch linger in appreciation. "I think it's your turn."
Kae narrowed her eyes, "Nuh-uh. No way."
Lilith blew a little kiss from the corner which made Kae clutch her fists. Mara sighed, her love was so quick to anger.Sunny and Mara sat back watching the two go at it for a while. He seemed to be tense, watching like he was afraid they were going to go too far and break each other.
"Don't worry," she said leaning back against the concrete, "they need this, it'll give them respect for one another."
Sunny looked at her then back to the other two, he nodded. "I think you might be right."
Kae landed a jump where Lilith was a moment ago leaving a small crater in the floor. Sunny gasped."Tone it down!" Mara called from the sidelines watching as the ceiling lights swayed.
Kae glanced up distracted as Lilith advanced. At least it would tire them out. Mara smiled to herself knowing how much energy Kae had at night. Always fidgeting and pacing. It was hard transitioning from juvie. Don't get her wrong, she was quite happy to be gone. But it was familiarity. Where she met Kae that day she had gotten locked up for—well it didn't matter much anyways. She had been scared, sniveling, a weak mess crying on the cement floor. It was Kae, the loner who was dismissing to everyone around her that consoled her. She said she wouldn't let anything happen to her as long as they were in there. Kae didn't know this, but that night she promised the same thing. Nothing was going to happen as long as they stuck together and it was going to stay that way. So she was going to figure out what was going on and find a way to gain control.
