We planned to have a surprise party at his own house. We talked to his mom and she happily agreed saying that he's never had friends who care about him like us before.
Kosta also warmed up to us. When we closed from school, we'd go to and game arena or the basketball court or a park or my house and hang out. If we weren't together, Kosta would be with Andrija at his house playing video games. I was happy to have made a new friend.
We soon realized that anytime we try to take a picture, he'd distance himself from us. It kinda used to worry me in the beginning, but I thought opening up to people is baby steps. Maybe it's going to take a longer time before he's fully comfortable with us.

We met at my house to plan the party. we realized that he was into movies and games that contained action, one with mafias and missions and weapons. he kinda loved a little violence so we decided to make that the theme of his party, but his mom didn't approve saying it could trigger some kind of feelings and emotions and she didn't want to raise a criminal. i then realized that planning a party was harder than it looked. we decided to order a red velvet, with chocolate cake. the icing was supposed to be black and white with a little green and purple designs.

Andrija stalled Kosta as we decorated his house for the surprise party. Sofija, Adriana, and Ana took care of the cake and the rest of the snacks. His mom took care of the gifts.  Ema, some girls named Mara, and Angelina helped Bojana and I with the banners and the balloons. the party was going to begin at six o'clock. It was currently five o'clock and Andrija texted me telling me he had no idea on how to stall him further so we should hurry up. After we finished everything, i told him and he told us that they were on their way. we couldn't wait to surprise him. we turned off all the lights and waited patiently for them.

"Mom?" Kosta called as he entered the living room. He went towards the light switch and turned it on.

"SURPRISE." We all screamed excitedly and we kind of spooked him in the process.

"What's this?" He asked in an irritated tone.

"Happy birthday." His mom said calmly, and we all started singing for him, but he was fuming like we did something really bad.

"STOP!" He yelled and we all stopped abruptly.

"Who said I wanted to celebrate my birthday with a party? Who came up with this idea?" He asked looking straight in my eyes. I looked away immediately.

"I asked a question. Who came up with this idea?"

"I did, okay? I just wanted to do something for you as a friend." I said immediately. He started walking slowly towards me like those bad guys in stories as he shot daggers through my skin. I stepped back slowly too. I was terrified. He looked scary when he was angry.

"How did you know my birthday was today?" He asked in a serious tone.

"I_"

"Speak up. You're already irritating me."

"Ema went through your files." I said shakily.

"So you're not the only nosey person here." he said and turned to Ema.

"Kosta stop! They just want to be friends with you." His mom said.

"I don't want friends who do things without asking me. Mom, you of all people should know that I hate celebrating my birthdays for a lot of reasons."

"I know son. I just thought_"

"You just thought what? I thought you understood me but it looks like you don't."

"But we_"

"So this is why you didn't want us to leave the store. for this?!?" He yelled, cutting Andrija off.

"You don't have to be rude. We all spent a lot of time and effort on these. At least appreciate it." Bojana said.

"Did I ask you to? You can enjoy your little party. I'm out." He said and grabbed his jacket from the stand as he left. No one bothered to stop him. He was really mad and he needed to cool off.

"I'm so sorry about his behavior. It's all my fault. I really thought he was over everything but i was wrong." His mom said as she broke into tears.

This was supposed to be a happy occasion but it turned out to be the exact opposite. Everyone went home with their gifts leaving Andrija, Ema, Sofija, and I with Kosta's mother. Around ten in the night, Kosta still wasn't back and we all worried. We should've asked him first. I took out my phone to call but all my calls went straight to voicemail. He was practically ignoring all of us. At around eleven, Kosta came strolling in.

He looked at us and smiled. We all looked at each other in confused manners.

"Why are you guys still here?" He asked, not in an angry tone.

"We were worried. We're really sorry for upsetting you." Andrija said.

"Its okay. I don't really care."

"You should go home and have some rest. We have school tomorrow." He said and went upstairs, leaving us in utter shock and confusion.

"What just happened?" Ema asked and we all shrugged.

We said our goodbyes to his mom and left to our respective homes.

I texted Kosta as soon as I got home. He was online but he totally ignored my text. I decided to forget it and get some good sleep.

When we got to school, Dragon smiled and greeted us as usual. What happened at Kosta's surprise party was the main talk of the day. Everyone stared at him as he walked down the hallway. I smiled and walked to him as he stopped at his locker.

"Hi." I said and he totally ignored me.

"I texted you yesterday. Didn't you see it?" I asked again. He glared at me, slammed his locker shut, and walked away.

I frowned and followed him to our class. He walked faster and faster to a point where I couldn't keep up with him so I just let him go.

We tried to talk to him several times but he just glared and walked away.

At recess, he left the class and I followed him. He went to the rooftop and he sat down on the bench as he took out that same small piece of paper from his pocket. I really wanted to see what was in that paper.

"Can't you give me a break?" He asked, annoyed at my presence.

"I just want to know why you're ignoring us."

"Don't ask me that silly question. if it wasn't for that stupid party you threw, I would've still been invisible in school and people wouldn't criticize me."

"I didn't want it to come out this way. I'm really sorry."

"Sorry wouldn't stop them from staring at me weirdly."

"Why don't you want to have a_"

"It's none of your business okay. You're such a nosey bitch, I cant keep up with you. Just stay away from me."

"What's on that sheet of paper anyway?"

"My murder list." He smirked and I gasped in shock. There was no freaking way he was a murderer.

"Wanna be on it?" He asked as he got closer to me, towering over my tiny body.

"Are y_you se_serious?" I asked and he started laughing like psycho.

"God, you're so gullible. Do I look like a murderer?" He asked as he continued laughing and I finally could breath again.

"I'm serious. Stay away from me." He said and started walking away.

"What if I don't want to?" I asked.

"I'm warning you." He said on a more serious note and walked away.
