For the next few days, Kosta ignored us. He stopped coming to my house for movie nights, he stopped playing basketball after school with Andrija, for some reason, he was never at home when we tried to visit.

"Why is he acting like the main character here? He's so stuck up, its annoying." Ema said as we sat down in Andrija's living room.

"He's just going through his phase again." I shrugged.

"You don't have to defend him every time. He's at fault too. You cant blame us for doing something nice for him. He should be glad that we're putting up with his bitchy behavior." Ema said.

"I'm not defending hi_"

"Yes you are. You always do." She snapped.

"Can we just forget about that for now and go straight to the reason why we're here?" Andrija said.

"You don't have to yell at me." I said lowly, referring to Ema.

"I'm sorry." She told me.

"It's okay." I smiled.

We decided to focus on finishing our research and projects. We had a field trip to some woods for nature viewing as a class and we wanted to complete everything immediately and get enough sleep for the trip.

We finished all our projects at six in the evening and had some diner made by Andrija's mother before going home.

I went through my Instagram and watched some TikTok. I texted Kosta and waited for him to reply as I continued to watch the TikTok. It was around ten, when I realized that he was not not going to reply, that I fell asleep.

++++++ The Next Day ++++++

I woke up at six in the morning and did my morning routine. After taking my shower, I wore a black tank top with a pair of black sweatpants. I wore my converses and applied a little bit of lip-gloss as I went downstairs. My mom was in the kitchen preparing breakfast and that was a really rare scene. I wished it was all the time. She gave me my breakfast as I joined my dad at the dining table.

"Hey dad." I said as I sat down.

"Hey honey, how was your night?" He asked as he placed his phone down.

"It was okay." I said as I took a bite from my pancake.

"I kind of have a question for you guys." I said as my mom joined us.

"What is it, dear?" Mom asked.

"So there's this guy_"

"You're too young to engage in relationships." Dad said sternly.

"No. That's not what i'm saying."

"Then what?"

"He recently transferred to our school. We found out that he was bullied in his old school and we tried to befriend him. He's very secretive. We organized a surprise birthday party for him and he has been mad with us since then. Apparently, he doesn't like to celebrate his birthday and he wont tell us why."

"That's bad." Mom said.

"What should I do?"

"Just give him time. He'll come around and maybe tell you why he doesn't like it." Mom said.

"Do you think what we did was wrong?"

"Of course not. You were looking out for him and that's what friends do." Dad said.

We talked more as they drove me to school. They then told me that they were travelling so my Grandmother was coming over. I was happy that she was coming but I didn't want my parents to leave again.
