The last thing Touya had expected to see when he came home was Hawks huddled up on his kitchen island regretfully sipping his whiskey... Surrounded by chicks?

And no, he did not mean the woman kind of 'chick' (although that would be rather unexpected in the little gay chicken's house). A decent amount of puffy little yellow chicks bounded around the kitchen, there was at least a dozen. All hopping about with gentle chirps.

For a moment, Touya stood still, unsure of what to make of it.

"Kei..."

"No."

"What happened-?"

"No."

"Kei-"

"No."

"Keigo Takami you stubborn little shit, if you don't stop saying 'no' I will personally remove your wings."

The scarred man snapped, not too fond of the cycle he found himself locked in with the conversation. He hated repetition, and when his boyfriend refused to spill what was going on.

The bird man eventually looked up, the layer of eyeliner smudged with a few lazy tears rolling over his cheeks. His face was flushed a deep red hue, as well as daily obvious eye bags hanging below the alluring honey colour of his captivating iris. Usually, his blond hairs would be sleeked back tidily, but now a few hung over his face; it drooped down over his eyes like liquid gold.

Hawks let out a sniffled, bringing the bottle back to his lips to take a swig. His face contorted into a disgust, not too keen on the taste of his liquor. It was bitter, the vile aftertaste clinging to his mouth as the alcohol burned down his throat. It was almost agonising, especially after how much he'd drank, but he was beyond the point of no return now.

His eyes gleamed with a relief as they finally acknowledged Dabi's presence, tinted with the sadness that he was trying to dull down. He was clearly stressed out, as he typically drank when he was overwhelmed. That or drugs... Touya was glad to see it was the less destructive of the two evils.

Even if it hurt to see his birdie wallowing away in his own self pity, it let the villain know he still had some emotion that hid securely behind that damned hero persona.

"It's just-"

The blond's words were broken up by a quick sniffle, rubbing his face in his forearm and leaving a smug of makeup behind. It looked as if a thick graphite pencil had ran over the tanned skin, leaving a faded smuge in the faint shape of triangles.

"you haven't messaged in days, I didn't know where you were. I couldn't contact the league either."

He finally finished through a few strained sobbs, letting Touya's heart sink at the idea of hisover being detached from him and having no way of knowing if he was even still alive.

"I'm sorry birdie, we were all on a big mission... Was it a nightmare again?"

Touya asked gently, not wanting to press the already shaken man too much.

Recently, after discovering that Touya was in fact Dabi, he'd suffered more nightmares. Jolting up from his slumber every now and again in distress, grabby hands immediately fleeing to grasp hold of his boyfriend.
