Annalise POV
I pulled my seat belt, making sure it wasn't too tight. I kicked my feet up on the dashboard, scuffing the surface in the process.
"Aye! Watch the shoes," Tris scolded, trying to buff the scraps out with his fingers.
I pushed my sun glasses higher on my nose as Tris started the car. The engine stalled and then stopped. I sighed remembering that Brad's truck was a terrible choice in vehicle.
"Shit," Tris cursed, trying the key once again. I pulled my jacket tighter around my body, the cold now seeping through my layers of clothing.
"Hurry Trissy, I'm freezing."
He nodded turning the key forcefully. The engine rumbled and started with a loud bang. I grinned reaching for the heater knob and turning it swiftly. "So, you're sure this is what you want to do?" Tristan confirmed, pulling his jacket hood over his head.
I shivered and snuggled into my seat, trying to find some warmth. "Yes. I'm positive." I glanced out the car's now foggy window. The sky was grey with clouds and small snowflakes were gathering on the window in patches.
Tristan pulled out onto the long stretch of road and began our journey. I stuffed my ear buds in and drowned out my thoughts of giving up on the idea of visiting him.

I felt something brush against my cheek as my eyes fluttered. I opened my heavy eyelids to a pale Tristan. His cold hands brushing against my hair. "We're here banana," he spoke softly.
"You're freezing," I observed squeezing his hand, his fingers wrapping around my fragile bones.
I threw my feet off the side and jumped to the ground, landing with a soft crunch. I looked below me, snow littered ever inch of the ground now, covering every tombstone in the graveyard that lay before us.
My steps sounded through the empty yard as I made my way to his spot. I looked around as I snow fell silently on Tristan's hood, plastering ice to his hair. His cheeks now red from the cold, making his pale skin seem almost the same shade as the snowflakes.
The crunching stopped as we came to a grey tomb stone. I wrung my hands together as I looked at what was scrawled on it.
"Beloved father," I choked, tears welling up in my eyes. I bent down, my knees sinking into the snow. I brushed the snow off the top of the grave. I threw my gloves to the ground and placed my bare hands on his name. "I am enough for someone dad and I wish you could see that now. I wish you were here for a lot of things, but we play with the cards we are dealt. I will miss you..." I said, my voice trembling with every word. Tears dripped from my eyes as I sucked in some breath.
I sunk deeper into the snow, it now completely soaking my pants. Tristan grabbed me bridal style and placed me right side up on the ground. He bent down so I could jump on his back. His arms wrapped around my thighs. He trudged through the snow, the wind now picking up and the snow now falling heavier.
He placed me in the passenger seat and jumped in as I turned the heat on to warm up my wet pants.
"Thank you," my voice cracking as more tears flowed from my eyes. Tris pushed his hood off leaning in closer to me.
"I did nothing but get you here princess, you are your own hero," he said, his breath warming up my cold skin.
"No, you are my prince," I stated leaning in, so our faces were centimeters away. Tris smirked as closed the space between us morphing his lips to mine. Our lips moved in sync as I watched the wind shield fog up once again.
~
Tris tugged a ear bud out and it landed on my lap. He smiled as I wrapped my ear phone cord around my phone and placed it in my bag. "I need someone to talk to," he said with a pouty frown.
I nodded placing a hand on his knee "I will be here for you."
"Always?" he questioned looking into my eyes, placing one hand on the steering wheel and the other on my thigh.
I nodded, brushing some fallen hair out of Tristan's eyes. "Always," I reassured, with a wide grin.
He glanced back to the road, releasing his hand from my thigh.
I puffed some breath onto the window, grinning satisfied when a nice fog painted the window. I traced some letters into the fog, my finger creating a nice picture on the window.
Tristan took my hand as he glanced over and read it. He matched my actions and scrawled the same word on his window. We both had written 'enough'.
A/N: Chapter 15 will be the last and there may be an epilogue but no promises. xx
