"I don't know Brad" I replied sarcastically "I've only known you for a day, you could be a murderer for all I know."
He let out a chuckle "You have so known me for longer than a day!"
I shook my head and counted my fingers in thought "You've known my brother for over 2 years and just yesterday you spoke 4 words to me."
He shrugged "Maybe I could never talk to you before because I was too nervous."
"Why would you be nervous aren't you some big rock star?" I questioned ruffling his hair as I walked past him into the entry way.
"Beautiful girls make even the most famous guy nervous."

I tried to hold in a laugh as I saw Brad's car.
"That's your car?" I asked, a hand covering my huge grin.
Brad huffed and hit the unlock button and a slight click sounded from inside the car. He drove what looked like a 1960 pick up truck that used to be a nice shade of blue but had rusted into a patchy mess of paint flakes.
"This isn't my usual car but it's getting fixed so I use this for now" he stated kicking one of the tires. It jostled from side to side and then settled back onto the pavement.
"I think it would be in the car's best interest not to kick the tires" I said as I pulled on the door handle.
I pulled once more, this time with more force and the door still wouldn't budge. Brad noticed my struggling and tried to open it himself. He then struck the door with an elbow and pulled again. "Just gotta' tug it a bit" Brad added before going over to his side of the car.
He stuck the key in the ignition and turned it quickly. The car's engine stalled and the smell of exhaust snaked into the windows. I reached over and pulled the key out hastily. "Are you trying to give us both carbon monoxide poisoning?" I questioned sticking the key back in the ignition and turning it. The car then revved up but started.
"You're magical" Brad said gleaming.
I giggled and dusted off my hands "No problem."

"So, where are we headed?" Brad asked as he pulled off of my street and onto the main road.
I thought for a second "Well, are you just dropping me off or are you coming along with me?" I questioned back as I fidgeted with my seat belt that wasn't buckling.
"What if you get kidnapped?" Brad asked playing along with the 'no straight answers only more questions' game.
I shrugged "What if the kidnapper only kidnaps me because you're there to protect me from being kidnapped and he feels like he needs to live up to his title and kidnapped me anyway?"
Brad let out a long chain of laughs before responding "You really are impossible to please."
Before I had time to respond my eyes flickered to the stop light that was positioned ahead of us and Brad was nearing it at an alarming speed so, I could already see it ending badly. He slammed his foot on the break and tried all he could to get the ole' truck to stop but it just kept rolling. I flew forward as my seat belt flung back into it's holder. The truck finally stopped about 10 feet from the cross walk where we should have stopped. I slowly looked up at Brad who was clutching the steering wheel with wide eyes.
He snapped out of his shock and quickly turned to me "Oh jesus, ar-are you okay?" he asked helping me from under the dashboard.
I moved my hair out of my face and really got a good look at our situation. We were a ways out into the intersection but we were alive.
"I am so sorry Annalise" Brad said, his voice shaky as he helped me sit back in my seat.
I nodded, still in shock. "GO!" I yelled at Brad who was still looking at me to make sure I was okay.
"The light is green Brad! Go, go, go!" I repeated. He scrambled and took the car out of park. He sped to a near by coffee shop and pulled into a parking place.
I sighed leaning back in my seat and rubbing my face. "This car is rubbish" I stated with my hands still glued to my face in agony.
I spread my fingers out slowly as I heard heavy breathing above me. "BOO" Brad yelled once I released my hands from my face.
"What?" I questioned, in a daze.
"I finally got you back for scaring me all those times" he spoke softly within inches of my face.
