The smell of thick smoke and burning wood wakes me from my sleep. I look around me, and take in the sight. Orange flames, roaring everywhere around me. Buildings completely destroying, and piles and piles of rubble and dirt smothering the surface. The sky is a mixture of orange shades, like fire, and the wind crackles and howls. I rise to my feet. I shove my hand to my hand to my nose; blood trickles off my hand, on to the hot ground, where you can hear the hiss as it burns up on impact with the hot surface. My face is drowned in sweat and dirt, while my skin burns from the immense heat above. I look up, and what looks like the sun is closer than ever to earth.

And it is coming closer.

Suddenly, the ball of flame sends a massive shock wave across the surface. I jump back, overwhelmed by the heat wave. I get back up, and start walking.

I've walked miles and miles, before I finally give in to mass fatigue, and drop straight down to the floor. My eyes start to flicker shut, when my eyes come across a figure, sitting, crying. It is a little girl about eleven or twelve... I force myself to my feet, and limp toward her. She hears the snap of a twig, and she jumps back, bites at her sleeve, and crawls up into more of a ball. I crawl toward her, dribbling blood down my chin, my arms unsteady, my knees dragging against the hard rocks and rubble. The heat hits against my face, but I push on. I reach my hand out to her, she's hesitant, but she grabs on. I manage to get up to my feet, and pull her up with me. She suddenly clutches to my back, tight, pressing herself up against me. I feel her tears dampen my shirt. I run my fingers through her hair, as she cries. "Don't worry, you're safe"

I close my eyes, but it only lasts a few seconds, before I open them, when I hear the loud whirr, of a machine, before I can react, a massive hand swipes us to the side with an almighty blow. We crash into the remains of what I presume was an old building wall. The girl starts crying, and I don't blame her. In front of my eyes the metal beast stands up, and points a massive cannon at us. It glows red, as it charges. I shout "Duck!!!", but find her getting up and walking toward it. I reach forward to grab her, but the laser fires, and its too late, the cannon has fired. I close my eyes, ready to see her body ripped straight in half by the beam of red power. But my sight was blinded, by the clash of red and blue.

The sudden blue light erupted straight from the girls chest, eyes and palms. It burned bright against the edge of the red, forcing it back. She screams, as she forces the power out. And like that, the red is forced, into the massive robot, and with a bang, its hand explodes, causing a chain of booms up to its body, where it explodes violently, shaking the ground. The head of the metal beast rolls toward us, and she stops it with her foot, and turns to look at me. I stand there, watching, as the light surrounding her absorbs back into her body. She gazes at me. "I'm a monster, aren't I...?"
"No" And she looks at me with a confused face.
