"He was there!"

Clarisse looked at me with her war-like eyes. She and a large number of Ares, Nemesis, and Athena campers had come rushing up the hill when I yelled. I tried running after Percy, but he seemingly vanished by the time I got to Thalia's tree.

Deep down, I knew that Percy was alive. I mean, I'd never felt him die. But I guess I-I don't know...I doubted myself. I didn't feel Leo die, either, and he quite literally went up in a ball of flames that not even Repair Boy could withstand.

But Percy and I had a stronger bond than that. I'm not talking in a romantic way. Sure, I had a crush on him for a while, but once I finally admitted it my feelings for him began to subside and I realized that Percy had been much more of a brother figure to me than someone I would actually like to have in my life...romantically. I mean, he gave me The Talk for gods' sakes. That's about as 'older brother' as you can get.

"He was standing right here, next to Thalia's tree. Then he turned around when I yelled and he ran when we made eye contact."

"Did you recognize him? What did he look like?" Clarisse marched up to me, seemingly completely confident around me, but I could tell that she was still wary.

It is for this reason that I began putting up a few of my walls again. Could I really trust them? Would they even believe me? What if they didn't? What if they stopped believing what I said altogether?

I can't tell them it's Percy.

But still, most of them fought through at least one war with you. You can trust them...to an extent.

"He had choppy blond hair and dark eyes. I couldn't tell you the exact color from my distance away. I'd say he was around 6 feet tall, kinda scrawny-" Unhealthily thin. The Percy-influence side of my brain sassed. You're one to talk. Replied the reigning, pessimistic side of my brain. I inwardly shushed both of them. "- and wearing a jacket, t-shirt, and jeans."

Clarisse nodded at my description and started to break the people up into groups to go look for Percy - even if they didn't know it was Percy - and any other people who were possibly lurking around the forest.

I honestly didn't pay much attention to her beyond that as I thought of ways to find, save, and kill Percy Jackson.

Just an FYI - I am planning on expanding this chapter a little bit more, I'm just trying to get all of the other chapters from the previous author on here before I go back and expand any further than I already have.

Thanks!
